A message from the Principal

As we steamroll ahead towards the end of the school year, there are a number of reminders for

parents/carers to be aware of. Please keep an eye on the newsletter and Facebook for regular

news and updates.

Celebration days are a reward for students to end the academic year. Celebration day is

Wednesday 18 December, the last day for students and staff at Albury PS for 2019. Permission notes

are being prepared for these fun activity days and include:

K – Inflatable fun house.

Years 1 and 2 – Oddies Creek Park

Years 3 and 4 – Lavington Pool

Years 5 and 6 – Albury Pool

In the next few weeks, students in Years 2 – 5 will receive a permission note for the 2020 school

swimming carnival. This carnival will be held on Friday 31 January at the Albury Pool. The permission

note and nomination of events form must be returned by the end of this year as students will be

placed into events in the “Meet Manager” system that is required by the zone and will streamline the

organisation of our school carnival. Any current Year 1 students (Year 2 2020) who are turning 8 next

year, can swim 50 metres competently and are willing to compete in the 50 metre events can also

participate. These students will need to see Mr Takle for a permission note to attend. These notes

must be returned with nomination forms and money by the end of this year.

A message from the Principal (continued)

Next Tuesday, November 26, the staff at Albury Public School would like to thank all the parent and

community helpers who have given some of their time or contributed to our school during 2019. You

are invited to the "Thank you" afternoon tea, at 1:00pm, in the APS Hall.

There will be maintenance carried out at the school from 13/11/2019 until 31/01/2020. This is a State

Government initiative, to clear the backlog of

identified works across all schools in NSW. The works being carried out have been identified by the

State, to prevent degradation to school buildings.

During the works, the maintenance team will be keeping disruption to the school to a minimum, during

school hours.

Organisation is currently underway for the Year 6 graduation dinner and disco on

Tuesday 17 December. The event will start at 5:00pm with the graduation ceremony,

followed by the dinner and disco, concluding at 9:00pm. Thank you to the small

group of parents/carers who are organising various aspects of this celebration and

to the dedicated parents who are assisting to make this event the huge success it

always is. If you have any further questions, or would like to get involved, please see

Miss Sheridan and the school.

Alex Takle - Sports Coordinator

Hello everybody,

We really need volunteers every day for the rest of this year.

If you haven't done a day in the canteen yet now is your chance.

We need helpers from 9:00 -11.30. Even half an hour during that time would be

great.

It's certainly getting hot and the kids have been powering through the cold treats. So on hot days

get that piggy bank active.

We have frozen juices and icy poles, frozen milks, milkshakes, frozen pineapple and berries-

basically, if it will freeze we'll put it on a stick and sell it.

Ideas for combinations are always welcome. We've had yoghurt and pineapple from Audrey and

frozen pineapple and jelly from Elsie so far.

The menu can be viewed online at www.quickcliq.com.au
