The Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) is a bitmap image format that was introduced by CompuServe in 1987 and has since come into widespread usage on the World Wide Web due to its wide support and portability. A GIF is capable of showing 256 colours (8 bits per pixel).

TIFF

Tagged Image File Format (abbreviated TIFF) is a file format for storing images, including photographs and line art. This is the most common and compatible form of digital stock photo format. This format is uncompressed but gives the highest quality output.
