Hope you are all enjoying the last bit of summer.

The Elder's have been enjoying their weekly

activities.

We will be starting apron making. Eventually we can

work towards making button blankets after that.

Time has yet to be determined when that project will

start.

Wellness Day continues on every Tuesday starting

@ 12pm with lunch. Games follow after. Door prizes

to be won.

Wednesdays are still Elder's Days. Lunch starts at

12pm. Feel free to come on down and help cook

starting @ 10am. The Elders played water pong last

week. Here are some photos for your enjoyment.

Boat trip to Nekite will presume. Please be at the

Seagate dock before 7:30am tomorrow, Saturday

August 15, 2015. There is limited seating. So we had

G-N Comprehensive

Community Planning

(CCP) Update

Greetings all! Here is an update for the G-N CCP. In July I formed an Advisory Committee. The Advisory

Committee will be helping me with preparing activities for community meetings and advising me on each

step of the planning process.

I have spent a lot of last month studying and learning more about the CCP and planning process. I

will continue to learn and study more. I will be training with Jessie Hemphill learning facilitation skills

this month. She has taught me a lot already and I am eager to learn more from her, she is a very smart

woman and she has done a lot for our community already. In case some of you are unaware, she is the one

who helped us make the last CCP that was implemented in 2010 and she did a great job.

I am planning to have a big CCP launch in September for the whole community. The date and time

will be announced in the near future. There will be a dinner, a meeting, and door prizes to follow. We will

be having regular CCP meetings starting after the CCP launch. I hope to see everyone! I encourage you

all to take part of all the CCP meetings because decisions are better made by all rather than by a few. If

you have any questions, concerns or suggestions please come by my office any time during office hours or

WATERING RESTRICTIONS

PUBLIC NOTICE - AUGUST 7, 2015 - EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY STAGE 2 WATER

RESTRICTIONS - Bylaw 06-2005

2. Stage 2 – Reduced Lawn Watering and Limited Water Use

2.1 During Stage 2:

(a) no person shall use a Sprinkler to water a lawn growing on a property with

(i) an even numbered address except on an even numbered day between the hours of 4:00 a.m. to 10:00

a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and

(ii) an odd numbered address except on an odd numbered day between the hours of 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

and 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and

(b) no person shall use Water to wash sidewalks, driveways or parking lots, exterior windows or exterior

building surfaces, except as necessary for applying a product such as paint, preservative and stucco,

preparing a surface prior to paving or repointing bricks, or if required by law to comply with health or safety

regulations;

and

(c) a person may

(i) water trees, shrubs, flowers and vegetables on any day with a Sprinkler during the prescribed hours for

Stage 2 lawn watering and on any day at any time if watering is done by hand-held container or a hose equipped

with a shut-off nozzle;

(ii) water newly planted trees, shrubs, flowers and vegetables by any method during installation and for the

following 24 hours;

(iii) use Micro-irrigation or Drip-irrigation systems to water trees, shrubs, flowers and vegetables at any

time on any day;

(iv) water all weather playing fields at any time if failure to do so will result in a permanent loss of plant

material; and

(v) wash a vehicle with Water using a hand-held container or hose equipped with a shut-off nozzle and at car

dealerships and commercial car washes.

2.2 As exceptions to Stage 2 restrictions,

(a) Owners of property who, by reason of physical or mental incapacity, are unable to water their property

within the restricted days and times, may water their property any three days of the week for a maximum of 9

hours per day;

(d) Nurseries, Farms, turf farms and tree farms are exempted from the restrictions; and

(e) Public Authorities may water lawns and boulevards on any day but no more than three days per week.

POSITION AVAIABLE: On Call Secretary

JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Band Manager and Executive Assistant the Secretary

provides support and assistance to employees as well as community members and visitors.

Attend to visitors and deal with inquiries on the phone and face to face. Supply information

regarding the organization to the general public, clients and customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receives and screens information, visitors and phone calls.

• Provides information and refers requests to the appropriate individual.

• Files and retrieves documents, records and reports

• Maintains office equipment.

• Provide information to callers

• Greet people when entering the organization

• Answer telephone, screen and direct calls

• Take and relay messages

• Direct persons to correct destination

• Deal with queries from the public and customers

• Ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of organization

• Provide general administrative and clerical support to staff as well as visitors

• Prepare correspondence and documents

• Receive and sort mail and deliveries

• Schedule appointments

• Control inventory relevant to reception area

• Tidy and maintain the reception area

• Tidy and maintain the kitchen and coffee areas, make coffee

• Making the YO! Newsletter and getting it distributed to the community

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience working with and supporting senior staff and executive level management.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment in setting priorities and dealing with confidential and

sensitive information.

• Minimum grade 12 with a certificate in Office Administration or other relevant degree.

• Initiative and time-management skills to work with minimal supervision.

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and interact with administration staff and

Council.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism and integrity.
