To make an informative android based software on proper diet, nutrition, medicines and informations required during pregnancy and post pregnancy. period.

Our Goals

- To raise public Awareness on proper diet, nutritions and medicines during pregnancy and post pregnancy period particularly in slum, rural, hilltracts and coastal areas.

- To decrease maternal mortality during delivery.

- To decrease newborn mortality.

- To decrease infant mortality.

Why

According to a statistics run by DGHS (DirectorateGeneral of Health Services) in Govt. medical hospitalsand health institutes last year more than 86thousands babies were born. Amongst them, 5055died before delivery, 7746 died within 28 days ofdelivery and 8142 infants died before completion ofone year.

Why

- Anemia and Malnutrition are responsible for premature delivery.

- Underweighted infants are born due to premature delivery.

- Underweighted & Premature infants are more susceptible to infections.

- Though there is a milestone achievements in decreasing maternal mortality during delivery, still the rate of maternal mortality is high in slum, rural, hill tracts and coastal areas in comparison with town areas .

Features of the Software

- Language of the software

will be Bangla.

- All the information will be

presented by prerecorded

audio to help the illiterate people

understand.

- The interface will be user friendly.

Contents of the Software

1. Basic concepts on physiological changes in the body during pregnancy

2. Suggestion of proper diet, foods and

nutrition on the basis of trimesters.

3. List of foods to be avoided.

4. Information about essential medicines

during pregnancy.

5. List of medicines contradicted

in pregnancy and lactation.

6. Addresses and contact numbers of nearby health institutes.

7. Emergency contact numbers of Ambulance services.

8. Contact information of volunteer blood donation organizations.

Implementation

- We will discuss our project to

NGO’s who has health care

activities in slum, rural, hill

tracts and coastal areas

e.g. USAID, Marie Stopes,

ASA, BRAC etc to make the

software reached to those people.

Targeted People

There are other Similar softwares to that of us but none of them targets the

illiterate people in slum, rural,

hill tracts and coastal areas,

neither of them have recorded audio to instruct the people through the software. We are optimistic that we can bring a noticeable change by our project.
