Universal Health Care •  Government strategy to improve access to

affordable and quality healthcare

(1)  Scaling-up promising preventive and promotive health programs and improving health-seeking behavior among the most vulnerable population

(2)  Improving financial risk protection by expanding national health insurance coverage

(3) Ensuring quality of service by not only investing in facility infrastructure and equipment, but also improving clinical and management processes, and regulating the quality of care provided

•  The government budget for health is limited.

•  There is unequal access to quality health care: maternal health is poor and infectious diseases are not undercontrol.

•  The Pantawid Pamilya Program is ineffective in remote areas where health facilities are lacking.
