Comment on the following aspects in relation to your music video choice. How will these techniques appeal to the target audience needs?

Target Audience & Needs

I think the target audience for this song would be a wide range including teenagers and older adults, with any sexual orientation and from any ethnicity group. I think their needs would be to have at least someone in the video from another ethnicity group; which they did do.

Lyrics (Meaning Implied?)

The lyrics “I don’t wanna be needing your love, I just wanna be deep in your love, and its killing me when your away” These lines can suggest that he’s in love with someone and hates being apart from that person.

Tempo The tempo is soft and slow where as I did identify that the main instruments used to create this effect was drums and bass guitars.

Genre The genre I would say is in the pop genre, however drum and bass was used throughout the track so it could fall into that genre.

Camera Technique The first shot we see is a establishing shot of a 3 cars lined up outside a building, on this shot we see two camera men which look a bit like paparazzi waiting outside the building. A long shot showing the entrance of the building where people begin to run out. The next shot is a zoom in shot of the men who just left the building, with the angle of the camera it looks like somebody is watching them. We then see a long shot of the band members leaving the building and entering the car, we know they are band members as they are carrying their own instruments. This then changes to a mid-shot of the lead singer Adam Levine talking to one of the cameras. We then see a number of shots when making their way to their destination such as an establishing shot when they’re driving away and then a long shot is shown of all of the band members in the car. When the men arrive to their destination we then see a tracking shot following them into the building with what they are carrying. We then see a zoom in shot of the bride to see her reactions as to what is happening. Furthermore, we then see some close up shots of instruments when the band is getting ready to play. Another tracking shot is shown, but this time of the band making their way down to another stage.

Editing The only editing technique I identified was that there was a lot of camera changing also known as cutting from one scene to another whereas; in this video it was from one angle to another.

Use of Digital Effects The lighting was very high contrast and very evident that it was a nice sunny day in America where the video was filmed I don’t

think this has had any alterations; however I didn’t identify any other digital effects.
