What are Dual Enrollmentand Early Admission programs?Eligible high school students currently attending anaccredited Palm Beach County public or private highschool or home education program can take freecollege-level courses and earn high school andcollege credit concurrently.

What placement test scoresare required?All students must take the ACT, SAT, CPT and/orPERT. Any combination of scores may be used.

The ACT, SAT, CPT or PERT scores may not be olderthan two years.

How do I get started?Contact your high school counselor to get completeinformation and the forms you will need to apply.Home educated students should contact the HomeEducation Office of Palm Beach County SchoolDistrict for information and forms.

Will I have to pay?No, in most cases you are exempt from tuitionand laboratory fees for the courses takenthrough dual enrollment and early admission.

Textbooks are provided to public schoolstudents free of charge through the SchoolDistrict of Palm Beach County; however,students enrolled in home educationprograms or private secondary schoolsmust purchase their textbooks.

All students are responsible for their owntransportation.

What else do I need to knowabout the programs? Dual enrollment students must earn agrade of “C” or higher in all collegelevel courses to continue enrollment;earning a “D” or “F” will result indismissal from the program andprevent you from enrolling in anyadditional dual enrollment or earlyadmission courses.

Early admission students must maintain a cumulativecollege GPA of 2.0 or higher and 12 credit hours persemester to remain in the program.

The credits that students earn will count towardboth a high school diploma and a college degree orvocational certificate. It is important to check withyour counselor to determine how specific coursesapply toward yourhigh schoolgraduationrequirements andwhat credits areawarded.

Remedial education,physical educationskills and somerecreation coursesare not available fordual enrollment.
