• Arid sand dunes covered themselves with greenery for the Gush Katif residents. They founded an empire of bug-free leaves, cherry tomatoes, peppers, herbs, flowers, and more. Gush Katif agriculture was among the most advanced in Israel.

• Gush Katif spread out over golden sand dunes, surrounded by palm trees and the blue sea. The feeling was of living inside a picture.

• Three years after the six day war, the decision was made to return and settle the Gaza Strip. Slowly, one by one the communities were established until they became a block of 21 settlements.

• Everyone knows one another, it is one big family, a warm and diverse community that has grown together in the sand dunes.

• The Israeli chain stretched from the Erez crossing until the Western Wall. Additional unique ways of fighting the Disengagement Plan were the orange streamer, “face to face,” and “believing and planting.”
