ViVian & Janet’sSmokehouSeTo Community Members:Our parents were told that their shed and their smoke house would be rebuilt within a week. It has been a while now since theirs burnt down. They are dis-appointed because the burnt rubbles still there.
People walked off with salvagable items; the items still belonged to them, things that they paid for out of their own dollars. They are on pension and that isn’t enough to buy back what was taken or was lost in the fire.
It is a shame how people are; especially towards elders’. It would be nice if their shed & smoke house be rebuilt soon. There are a few caring community members that offered them fish to replace what they lost. They don’t have any means to work on the fish because they don’t have their buildings. That is all our family would like is respect to our parents. They just recently moved back home. Their care and well being is a great con-cern to us; our father had hurt himself already trying to clean up by himself.
We love our parents so much and wish community would do what they said they would do. We did our utmost best to help replace some of their lost items. Please find it in your hearts to help them; they still hurt today for their loss.
Gilakasla; The Paul Girls.

Vote for your favourite colour
for the wakaS hall rePaiNtiNG!
The next two pages show SIX colour choices for the Wakas Hall repainting project. Several designs have been submitted (Thanks to Walter Brown for providing the Thunderbird design used in these examples) and if you have one you’d like to sub-mit, please get it in to the Eke Me-xi school ASAP.
The designs will be painted in the middle of the white circles, but we need to pick colours for the top and bottom parts. Please vote on which colour is your fa-vourite by entering the vote at the Band Office front desk, or online on the Gwasala Nakwaxdaxw and Eke Me Xi Facebook pages.
On November 14th at 4 p.m. voting will end. Four people will win a $10 Overwai-tea gift card for voting, and the winner will be announced shortly afterwards.
If you have any questions contact Jamaine Campbell at the Eke Me-xi School, 949-8332. Happy voting!
