The following document outlines the scope of work for the build and development of

westking.ac.uk website and Content Management System (CMS).

Reference is made using graphic visual layup pages derived from the approved visual designs.

This document will be used as a central point of reference for build and development of

functionality requirements for the project.

Information within this document requires review and sign off prior to the build and

development as agreed in the initial proposal document and contract.

The Hideout should be notified immediately of any indiscretions in functionality.

Any additional change requests that occur outside the scope of the document will be

recorded within Basecamp as a point of reference.

All change requests will be reviewed and costed accordingly.

The site will be developed as a Wc3 compliant, fully responsive website

design across desktop, tablet and mobile, developed across OS with

browsers from IE7+, Safari, Firefox and Chrome.

The home page carousel has the ability to add images and advertising to site header in the form of

a large configurable box extending across the top of the website with the following functionality:

• Dynamically updatable for title, sub text, image and internal/external page hyperlink

A box can be configurable to just:

Display Image

Display image with dynamic ‘call to action’ message containing a title, sub text

and internal/external page hyperlink

Display image with internal/external page hyperlink

(used with pre created adverts*)

• *Ability to use pre-created ‘Advert images’ containing text within the image and click advert box

to navigate to advertised content within the site or external source.

Internal Hyperlink - Select any current live page within the site from a drop down menu in CMS

functionality. Ability to select top level and all sub navigation pages.

• Ability to add an image, call to action strapline and internal hyperlink

• Click of hyperlink navigates to target content within the website

• Widget to display two advert boxes as default with automatically scrolling through additional

adverts. Ability to manually scroll through using up/down arrows at the bottom of the widget

• If only two advert boxes, scrolling arrows disabled and not displayed, automatic scrolling disabled

• Adverts are re-orderable in CMS with the ability to control the scroller and activate/

deactivate automatic scrolling when required.

Widget to display quick link content in the form of:

• Icon and name of quick link

• Click of quick link navigates to target content within the website

• Widget to display five quick links as default with automatically scrolling through additional

links. Ability to manually scroll through links using up/down arrows at the top right of the widget

• If only five links, scrolling arrows disabled and not displayed, automatic scrolling disabled

• Links created in a CMS Library with the ability to add a pre-created icon, hyperlink and colour

• Links are re-orderable in CMS with the ability to control the scroller and activate/

deactivate automatic scrolling when required.

• Listing of latest news articles from the news section

• Articles are manually ordered in CMS (not chronological) with the listing content drawn from news

article detail page

• Article displayed with thumbnail image, small overview text of article and a hyperlink to article

detail page,.

• Widget to display two articles as default with automatically scrolling through additional

articles. Ability to manually scroll through articles using up/down arrows at the top right of

the widget

• If only two articles, scrolling arrows disabled and not displayed, automatic scrolling disabled

• Adverts are re-orderable in CMS with the ability to control the scroller and activate/

HUB homepage widget

Area containing configurable widgets to display and promote content from The HUB. The HUB is

the central area to promote college and student life, news, event, images and video etc.

Area containing the following widgets:

• Contains HUB logo hyperlinks to HUB Homepage

• Updatable overview text
