Weissman Graduate Career Services takes pride in providing individualized career services and
resources for our students and alumni. We meet with students and alumni on a one-to-one basis
throughout their careers to research opportunities, explore areas of interest, identify skills, hone
presentations, and build strong professional networks. We examine the big-picture and carefully
study the career search process with the aim to sustain or reignite our students’ career development.
Networking is a key focus of our approach. We work closely with employers, our students, alumni
and mentors to connect people who can refer, give support and provide introductions. We work with
other colleges offering similar graduate programs to collaborate on career fairs and events. Our goal
is to provide quality services and to develop relationships that are beneficial to our students and the
companies we serve.
We have great resources from assistance with resume and cover letter critiques, access to jobs and
internships, networking with alumni, to events including career fairs, site visits, and on-campus
recruitments. You can learn more about these resources on our website at: http://www.baruch.cuny.
The Master in Industrial/Organizational

on “How Workspace Design Can Help
I/O Psych Change Behavior & How I/O

On November 6, 2015, the Weissman
Graduate Career Services Director
accompanied a group of MA in
Corporate Communication students
to the annual Marketing Edge Career
Forum in midtown.
“It was a very positive experience. I had deep insight into three important companies (American Express, Bank
of America, and Wunderman & KBM Group), and I found that all three of the speakers were well prepared. They
offered a good mix of personal narrative about their careers, information on their companies, and very practical
tips on how to be considered a good candidate for their institution as well as in the job market.”

network with a wide range of
companies. There were many
types of positions offered

within HR as well as companies
that dealt strictly with external
consultancy. At the fair, I was
able to schedule an interview

MEET THE DEAN
On October 27, 2015, a group of students from across Weissman
Graduate programs shared lunch and conversation with Interim
Dean Alison Griffiths.
It was really great to meet students from the other programs and to
speak with Dean Griffiths about her goals for Weissman. I enjoyed
speaking with the Dean and appreciated her receptiveness to our
suggestions and concerns. I was especially excited to learn about her
efforts to forge more global connections for our programs. I hope that
we can continue to keep in touch with our peers in the other Weissman
graduate programs. It seems like we would have much to learn
from each other.
