This highly selective bibliogiaphy was preared ior use at theEighth" Military History Symposium on,"Air poweri and'-Warfare", held

at the United States Air Force Academy, 18-20 October 1978. .

In addition to the resources noted, the Library has several tuniquecollections for historical research. Oral history tapes andtranscripts from distinguished military and civilian leaders areon file in our Special' Collections Branch. The Branch also hastwenty-one manuscript collections (130 cubic feet of records) offormer military leaders fron.World War I to the present whichhave been organized and had ianiuscript records written to assistresearchers.

The Colonel Richard.Gimbel Aeronautics History Collection containsapproximately 20,000-items on the l¢Astory-of, flight. including over7,000 books catalogedforýuse. Other materials include prints,nedels, philatelic items, china and glassware, original mapuscriptsand other media. The majority of the collection covers the era beforethe first powered'flight of the Wright brothers in 1903.
