How to Sketch for Beginners by Jorja Alderman

So the first thing you need to do is get a piece of paper, pencil, eraser,

sharpener, colored pencils and a great imagination! Get your piece of pa-

per out and your pencil. If you need to sharpen it you can. Now, lets

sketch something easy. Lets sketch a tree. First, start with to line on the

left and right side. Draw a line on the bottom. Then draw some holes in

the tree. Take your brown colored pencil and color in the tree but not the

holes. Take your back colored pencil and color in the holes. Ok, on to the

next step! Get your regular pencil and sketch a half circles beside each

other on the top of the tree. Now take your light green and color it all in.

Take your darker green and draw around the green. Once you have fin-

ished that, you can put in some details. Now, write your name at the bot-

tom so who ever looks at it will know who drew it! Now you should have

a lovely picture of a tree!

PLAY OF THEWEEK by Shooter Ballinger

Bryce Gilman has been chosen the player of the week.

He scored a 72-foot goal at Chapmanville's soccer

game. I talked to Bryce about it and his words were " I

don't know how I did it." Congrats to an awesome play

by Bryce Gilman.

Prayer Club by Chelsea McCloud

Prayer Club is about God and building a relation-

ship with him. The signups were on September 27th to

join and the members met by the pole outside of the

school in the front. We meet in the auditorium and

there is a guest speaker every Wednesday. At the end of

the year the prayer club takes a field trip for those

members who meet the required criteria. Also, the

Prayer Club participates in many activities to help the

student body at CMS. Hope to see you there!

Interview with Coach Kidd byEmma Bryant

1. When did you start playing tennis? When I was 12

2. What persuaded you to start playing tennis? I admired Andre Agassi and loved watch-ing him play, so I started to pick up the game.

3. Who do you look up to in professional tennis? Agassi for building his own school and giving back to the community he is from.

4. If you could play any other sport what would it be and why?

Basketball. I used to be decent at the sport and I really enjoyed playing.

5. How old were you when you started playing tennis?

I was about 12.

6. Have you ever played another sport?

I played football, basketball, baseball, and tennis.

7. What is one thing you are hoping for this year?

I want to see the kids improve and have a good time.

8. When did you start to realize you wanted to be a coach?

When Haley Justice harassed me to coach about 8 years ago. I didn't want to coach,

but after I started I've really enjoyed it and find it very rewarding.

9. How many wins do you hope for this year?

We hope to win all of them.

10. Are you looking forward to this season?

Every season is different and every season is also a lot of fun.

1. Why did you decide to play tennis?

I decided to play tennis because I wanted to try something new and it looked super fun!

2. Do you like Coach Kidd?

Yes I do like Coach Kidd

3. How long have you played tennis?

I have played tennis since 3 week conditioning in May, 2017.

4. If you could master one tennis move what would it be? Why?

My serving because I can never get the ball over the net. Also, I feel it is the hardest move for tennis.

5. Who is your favorite professional tennis player?

Serena Williams

6. What is one thing Coach Kidd has taught you that you didn't know before?

How to keep track of the score.

7. What type of tennis racket do you have?

I have a Wilson.

8. How many wins do you hope to get?

I really don't care how many I get, it is all about having fun!

9. On a scale of one to 10 how do you like the team?

A 10 out of 10.

10. How long do you think you will play tennis? Until I'm in 8th grade.

I love sports and I thought it would be fun and active to play for the tennis team.

I like him a lot! He is a great coach and is always depending on us!
