*Call to worship Jared Huffman, assistant pastor

    Alleluia! Christ is risen!

The Lord is risen indeed! Alleluia!

May his grace and peace be with you.

May he fill our hearts with joy. Jesus Christ our King is risen! *Hymn of praise “Christ the Lord Is Risen Today”

“Christ the Lord is ris'n today,” Alleluia! sons of men and angels say; Alleluia! raise your joys and triumphs high; Alleluia! sing ye heav'ns, and earth, reply: Alleluia!

Vain the stone, the watch, the seal; Alleluia! Christ has burst the gates of hell: Alleluia! death in vain forbids his rise; Alleluia! Christ has opened paradise. Alleluia!

Lives again our glorious King; Alleluia! where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia! Once he died, our souls to save; Alleluia! where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!

*Prayer of adoration and The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

*Choral prayer response “Five-fold Amen” M. Devine

    *Welcome and greeting *Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; THE THIRD DAY HE ROSE AGAIN FROM THE DEAD; he ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

    *Congregational Response 735

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, amen. Call to confession Hebrews 10:19-22

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

    Prayer of confession

If, at times, we deny you, God forgive. When the risks of discipleship are high, and we are nowhere to be found:

    God forgive.

When we wash our hands of responsibility:

    God forgive.

When we deny and betray you in both overt and covert ways:

    God forgive.

When fear keeps us from witnessing to your truth, and pride keeps us from believing it:

    God forgive.

In the bright light of your truth this Easter morning, O God, our sin is exposed, and your grace is revealed.

Gracious God, in your tender care and by the power of your resurrection, grant us renewed trust in your love, so that with joy we may witness to your awesome deeds, in the name of Jesus, the risen one. Amen.

    Silent prayers of confession

Choral prayer response “Merciful Father” L. van Beethoven Assurance of pardon from 1 Peter 2:24, John 3:17, 1 Corinthians 15:20-21

Jesus Christ himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.

Alleluia!

Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia! foll’wing our exalted Head; Alleluia! made like him, like him we rise; Alleluia! ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!

*Hymn 267 vv. 1, 2 “The Day of Resurrection!” Worship in giving of God’s tithe and our offerings Offertory “All the Earth with Joy Is Sounding” arr. Pelz LMPC Chancel Choir

    *Hymn of response “Alleluia! Alleluia!”

Alleluia! Alleluia! Hearts to heav’n and voices raise; sing to God a hymn of gladness, sing to God a hymn of praise: he who on the cross a victim for the world’s salvation bled, Jesus Christ, the King of glory, now is risen from the dead. Alleluia! Alleluia! Glory be to God on high; alleluia to the Savior, who has won the victory; alleluia to the Spirit, fount of love and sanctity. Alleluia! Alleluia to the Triune Majesty.
