Grade 12 CAPS Orientation took place in East London on 8th to 12 April 2013. This was a successful event and I
hope all the Subject advisors present were satisfied with the orientation they received. This was a training of train-
ers who will then train their teachers in the districts.

School Based Assessment is actually
part of the learner’s examination. It
serves to validate and standardize the
work of the child. Without this important
part there will be no way of resulting the
learner.
It is therefore imperative that SBA is fol-
lowed through in all the levels.
