Come from that Scene, O Women,

to Zion: Receive from us the
Tiding of Joy, of the Resurrection
of Christ! Exalt, rejoice and be

Christ the King as a Bridegroom
come forth from the Tomb.
So shall the wicked perish at the Presence of God; and let the Righteous rejoice.
The Myrrh5bearing Women, at deep
dawn, drew near to the Tomb of
the Giver of Life, and they found
an Angel sitting upon the stone,
and he cried to them and said:
“Why do you seek the Living

This is Day that the Lord has made: we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Christ today shone forth, and
filled the Women with Joy, saying:

O Theotokos, through Thee became
manifest to us on earth the
Mystery that was hidden from
Eternity, and which the Angels
themselves did not know: that
God, uniting Natures without
confusion, voluntarily became a
Man and accepted Crucifixion for
our Salvation. By virtue of this,
resurrecting mankind whom He
had first created, He Saved our
souls from Death!

O devout Athanasios, by the
splendour of Thy Divine
Discourses the whole Church is
nobly beautified; and she adorns
herself piously with beautiful
ornaments; and she dutifully
keeps Thy most Festive Memorial,
and she honours Thee, the
Illustrious Glory of the Priesthood
and the Universal Preacher in the
Defence of the Trinity.
Praise Him with tuneful cymbals! Praise Him with loud cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
With the Staff of Thy Dogmas Thou,
O All Wise Father, drove away
from the Church of Christ all the
Spiritual Wolves; and Thou
protected her round about with
words as with battlements, and
presented her to Christ free of
blemish or injury. Therefore
supplicate that He free from
corruptiona and from dangers
those who loyally now honour

By Thy Cross, O Christ, Thou hast
freed us from the ancient Curse,
and by Thy Death Thou hast
destroyed the devil who
tyrannised over our nature, by Thy
Rising Thou hast filled all things

Thee: Lord, Risen from the dead:

Praise Him for His Mighty Acts; praise Him according to the greatness of His Majesty.
With Thy Cross, Christ Saviour, guide
us to Thy Truth, and deliver us
from the snares of the foe; Risen
from the dead, raise us who have
fallen through sin by stretching
our Thy Hand, O Lord, at the
Prayers of Thy Saints.
Praise Him with tuneful cymbals; praise Him with loud cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Thou endured Cross and Death in

So they both ran together, and the
other Disciple outran Peter and
came to the Tomb first. And he,
stooping down and looking in, saw
the linen cloths lying there, yet he
did not go in.
Then Simon Peter came, following
him, and went into the Tomb; and
he saw the linen cloths lying there,
and the Handkerchief that had been around His Head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.
Then the other Disciple, who came to
the Tomb first, went in also; and
he saw and believed. For as yet
they did not know the Scripture,
that He must Rise again from the
dead.
Then the Disciples went away again to their own homes.

For I know my iniquity, and my sin is

To Thee only have I sinned, and have
done evil before Thee: that Thou
mayest be justified in Thy words,
and mayest overcome when Thou
art judged.
For behold I was conceived in
iniquities; and in sins did my
mother conceive me.
For behold Thou hast loved Truth: the uncertain and hidden things of
Thy wisdom Thou hast made
manifest to me.
Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop,
and I shall be cleansed:
Thou shalt wash me, and I shall be
made whiter than snow.
To my hearing Thou shalt give joy and gladness: and the bones that
have been humbled shall rejoice.
Turn away Thy Face from my sins,
and blot out all my iniquities.
Create a clean heart in me, O God:
and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from Thy Face; and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of Thy Salvation, and strengthen me with
a perfect spirit.
I will teach the unjust Thy ways: and the wicked shall be converted to
Thee.

in their gatherings, and Who
shares the Throne with the Father
and the Spirit. For our Illustrious
Saviour came seeking His Image
for the Kingdom on High, for
