    Paschal Matins

    At the stroke of midnight, the clergy, assembled in the altar, begin to chant the following, at first quietly and then more loudly with each of the two repetitions:

    Clergy: Thy Resurrection, O Christ Savior, /the angels in the heavens sing; /enable us on earth //to glorify Thee in purity of heart. (Thrice)

    As this is chanted the third time, the clergy go out of the church in procession, followed by all the faithful.

    Choir: Thy Resurrection, O Christ Savior, /

    After going around the church, the clergy stop at the closed doors.

    Senior Clergyman: Glory to the holy, and consubstantial, and life-creating,and indivisible Trinity, al ays, no and ever, and unto the ages of ages.

    Clergy: Christ is risen fro" the dead, tra"pling do n death by death, andupon those in the to"bs besto ing life# (Thrice)

    The Priest reads the stichoi, and the choir sings the troparion after eachstichos: Stichos 1: $et God arise and let %is ene"ies be scattered, and letthe" that hate %i" flee fro" before %is face.

    Choir: Christ is risen fro" the dead, tra"pling do n death by death,and upon those in the to"bs besto ing life.

    Stichos 2: !s s"o&e vanisheth, so let the" vanish, as a' "elteth before the fire.

    And all enter the church. The Priest (or clergy stand before the icon of the Resurrection

    in the center of the church. And the !reat "itany is said.

    Deacon: *or the peace fro" above, and the salvation of our souls, let us pray to the $ord.

    Choir: $ord, have "ercy.

    Deacon: *or the peace of the hole orld, the good estate of the holychurches of God, and the union of all, let us pray to the $ord.

    Choir: $ord, have "ercy.

    Deacon: *or this holy te"ple, and for the" that ith faith, reverence, andthe fear of God enter herein, let us pray to the $ord.
