Saint Augustine is one of the oldest African American parishes in the United States,
located in the historic West Louisville in the Archdiocese since 1870. We are a spirit
filled, welcoming faith community that prides itself in sharing the good news with
all of God’s people. We give witness to the presence of God in the affirmation of our
leadership, ministries and outreach to the broader community from a family –
centered perspective.

WELCOME GUESTS, We are honored that you chose to worship with us today!
All who are not receiving Holy Communion are encouraged to express in their hearts a prayerful desire for unity with the Lord Jesus and with one another.
The precepts of the Lord give joy to the heart. (Psalm 19:9a) Christianity is not that complex system of op-pressive rules which the unbeliever describes; it is peace, joy, love and a life that is continually renewed like the mysterious pulse of nature at the beginning of spring. We must assert this truth as confidently as the Apostles did, and you… must be convinced of it, for it is your greatest treasure, which alone can give meaning and serenity to your daily life. The source of this joy is Jesus Christ. (Saint John XXIII) - Worship
God may break us in order to remake us. - Forbidden Fruit II, Mary Compton and David Compton). - submitted by Evangelization Min-istry The 33rd Annual African American Catholic Day of Reflection has been postponed until Saturday, 11/3/18 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Catholic En-richment Center. MASS INTENTION
Today's mass intention is for the repose
of the soul of Janie Bolan. May her soul
and all the souls of the faithfully departed
rest in peace.
STEWARDSHIP
"For whoever is not against us is for us." Mark
9"For whoever is not against us is for us." Mark
9:40
The practice of stewardship should not provoke quarrels and factions. There are many different ways a person or a parish can practice steward-ship. Anyone who is trying to practice steward-ship is part of a common journey in faith.
