Early Literacy Programs

Babies and Books (Ages infancy – 18 mos) Thursday, June 8, 15, 22 & 29 at 10 a.m. Hear stories and learn songs and rhymes to help baby’s mind grow.

Tiny Tots (Ages: 18 months – 2 years) Thursday, June 8, 15, 22 & 29 at 10:30 a.m. Sing songs, learn rhymes, and play.

Twos and Threes (Ages: 2 years & 3 years) Thursdays at 11 a.m. Join us on these dates for a story, songs, and a simple craft or activity. June 8: Let’s build together! June 15: Let’s visit the ocean! June 22: Let’s talk about homes! June 29: Let’s visit faraway lands with fairytales!

Little Listeners (Ages: 3 years to 5 years) Thursdays at 1 p.m. Join us on these dates for stories, songs, and a craft. June 6: Let’s talk about construction! June 13: Learn about what lives in the ocean. June 20: Let’s learn about different types of homes. June 27: Travel to faraway lands and have fun with fairytales.

take our wrecking ball to destroy it? June 13: Neighborhood Nature – What are the sounds in your neighborhood? Let’s write about it in a nature journal. June 20: Animal Gross-Out – Before making our own slime, we will talk about gross and interesting facts about animals. June 27: Once Upon a Time – Join us to learn about worldly fairytales and to create your own!

Lego Club (Ages: 6 years to 13 years) Mondays, June 7, 14, 21, & 28 at 2 p.m. Join us to imagine, create, and build with the library’s Legos! Science Club (Ages 6 years – 13 years) Thursdays at 2 p.m. Join us each week for science discussion and activities! June 8: Construction Site – Join us to learn about construction vehicles. June 15: Exploring Habitats – Learn about survival in different habitats. June 22: Young Architects – Learn about Frank Lloyd Wright and other famous architects. June 29: Reach for the Sky – Learn how skyscrapers are made.

Reader’s Theater (Ages 6 years – 18 years) – Thursdays at 3 p.m. Do you like to act or create? If so, then HPL Reader’s Theater is for you! This summer we will practice and perform Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Car-roll. June 1: Are you interested in partici- pating in Reader’s Theater? Join us today with a parent to learn about this program. *This program will be at 4 p.m. On the following dates, we will practice lines and rehearse the performance. June 8, 15, 22 & 29

Summer Movie (Ages 6 years – 13 years and caregivers) – Fridays at 1 p.m. Popcorn will be served while supplies last. June 9: Aladdin (G) – In this Disney classic, follow Aladdin through his adventures to save Princess Jasmine. June 16: Hoot (PG) – Join Roy and his friends as they care for en- dangered owls while saving their habitat. June 23: Zootopia (PG) – Judy Hopps might be a small bunny, but with the help of a scam-artist fox, she turns

into a big hero. June 30: Around the World in 80Days (G) – Do you think it is possible to travel the entire world in 80 days? Join us to find out!
