By doing so, YOU will be responsible for calling a local florist and making the arrangements for flowers to be delivered to the church on that date. Our first meeting is TODAY, January 28th at 12:00 p.m. in Room 154 (the Covenant Sunday School classroom). Anyone interested in serving on this committee is VERY WELCOME to join us. Please bring a brown bag lunch...drinks and dessert will be provided. As followers of Christ, we are all called to serve and give in some capacity; and we ask you to please be thinking of ideas and projects in which you would like to see our church get involved…not just Committee members, but everyone! See you on the 28 th ! Young people will be at the exits NEXT SUNDAY, February 4th, following our worship services with soup bowls…Please give at least a dollar or the cost of one meal to this worthy cause that will help the people right here in our own county to have food to eat. We will have a special offering NEXT SUNDAY, February 4th, for the North GA United Methodist Housing and Homeless Council. Also, any money left on the altar rail during Communion on Sunday, February 4th, will be given to The Housing & Homeless Council. This is a North GA Conference Council that provides grant monies to various ministries throughout North GA to help alleviate homelessness and hunger. There are many reasons for homelessness: lack of affordable housing, job loss, medical bills, poor work ethics and skills. The Housing & Homeless Offering provides funds to organizations that seek to remedy these situations that cause homelessness. Warm Clothing Donations for the Homeless in Barrow County During the month of February, we will be collecting CLEAN, gently used coats, sweaters, and blankets for Barrow’s homeless who come to the Clothes Closet asking for assistance. Donations may be placed in the collection bins located in the hallway that leads from the Nursery into the Sanctuary or just inside the side entrance to the Fellowship Hall to your left. Learn About the Joy of Fostering There will be a Foster Care Ministry Information meeting on Tuesday, January 30th, from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at Watkinsville First United Methodist Church, 1331 New High Shoals Rd., Watkinsville, GA. Who Is Willing To Teach the Kindergarten Sunday School Class One Sunday A Month?...We are needing a team to teach the Kindergarten

Sunday School class which currently does not have a teacher. You could choose to teach one Sunday a month or more. If you are interested, please contact Dwight in the church office.

Music Lessons Nathan Jones is now offering music lessons on Thursdays & Fridays from 2 - 8 pm at the church. Students of all ages and skill levels are invited to apply, though child students are required to be fluent readers. In the past, Nathan has taught students ranging from 7 year olds up to students in their 70's starting piano lessons for the first time. Lessons are currently available in Piano, Voice, and (for intermediate and advanced students) Music Theory and Composition. Organ lessons will be available in the future as well. Youth Trip to WINTER JAM 2018 Saturday, February 3rd, ALL YOUTH gather at the Youth Center to depart for Winter Jam @ 1:30 PM. Please bring $15 entrance fee and extra money for supper and snacks.
