Flu Shots for IL Residents Save the Date!

Medicap Pharmacy will be at Northcrest Sept 28 in the afternoon to admin-ister the flu vaccine to independent resi-dents. This vaccine will be the “high dose” vaccine that is typically recommended for seniors. There will be three stations set up for residents, 1) Fireside Room for the Town-homes, 2) Founder’s Room for the main building and 3) first floor multipurpose room in the Parkway building. An authorization form and a copy of your insurance card will be needed prior to Sept 28. The forms will be distributed as soon as we get them.

Let’s ZOOM! Tuesday Coffees via Zoom start at 9:30 am every week. September 15 will be hosted by Atrium N-2, & Guest Joan Traylor will share info on the Landscape Committee. Watch for an invitation in your email on the Monday before, or type in Meeting Number 875 0722 5478 in Zoom.

Friday Chats We’ll have Friday Chats at 10:30 am with all residents. Watch for an invitation on Thurs-day or you use 815 9013 1120 as the meet-ing number. The Friday Chats are open to all residents that would like to get acquainted with each other. Topic will be a favorite poem or short story to share (3 minute or less).

New WeatherCall System Have you turned in your WeatherCall form yet? If you don’t text, but want an alert on your cell phone, write the cell number in the landline area of the form. Also, please let us know your cell phone carrier.

Walk With Ease Program Walk With Ease was developed by the Arthritis Foundation & is en-dorsed by the CDC as a recom-mended program for chronic disease treat-ment and prevention. The Physical Activity & Health Promotion Lab at ISU has devel-oped a ‘contact free’ version of the evidence-based Walk With Ease program to help old-er adults establish healthy patterns of physi-cal activity. This 6 week program is free. You must be able to stand for 10 minutes and a physician’s approval is required. A leader will be at our Tuesday Coffee on Sept 29. For more info, see [email protected].

Outdoor Concerts Fri, Sept 11, 4:00 pm. Reggie Greenlaw, Curt Snook and Steve Hurst make up the Green Oaks trio. They cover it all: Folk, Americana, Alt-Country, Bluegrass, Original. Fri, Sept 18, 4:00 pm. The Onion Creek Band will entertain with their folk country sound. Don’t miss them at the Pergola; These are weather dependent. Watch for a postponement notice via email.
