MEALS for HOSPICE HOUSE

St. Anne’s will be providing meals for the families and

friends of the Hospice House patients from October 1

thru October 10. These meals allow those folks to stay

in-house with the patients. If you would like to provide

either a lunch or supper on any one of these days,

THANKSGIVING BASKETS

St. Anne’s parish will once again be preparing

Thanksgiving Food Baskets. If a family that you know

(including your own family) could benefit from this

outreach, please contact the parish office (276-669-

8200) by October 23 with the name, address, phone

number, and the number of people in the family.

Thank you for helping Social Ministry reach those

who can benefit from this outreach.

Prayer Groups meeting this week:

(both groups are now meeting on Wednesdays)

Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 4, Noon-1:00pm in

the Chapel. This group meets on the 1st and 3rd

Wednesdays.

Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 4, 2:45-3:45pm in

the St. Vincent de Paul Center. This group meets

the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Wednesdays.

If you would like to join a prayer group or host a

prayer group, please stop by the table in the commons

and sign-up. For the prayer groups there are no fees,

no long-term commitment, no prior experience, and no

preparation required. Come when you are available!

Blessing of the Animals

Feast of St. Francis

Our annual pet blessing on the Feast of St. Francis of

Assisi will be this Wedneday, October 4, at 3:30 p.m.

and again at 4:30 p.m. in the center of the cemetery.

Please be sure animals are on leashes or in cages.

St. Anne’s Choir will rehearse this Wed., Oct. 4 at

6:30 p.m. and sing at the 5:30 Mass on Sat., Oct. 7.

Adults & High School Teens who love to sing are

welcome to join the Choir!

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults—RCIA

Catechumens & Candidates will meet this

Wednesday, Oct. 4 in the Great Room, 6:30pm-

8:00pm.

Inquirers will meet in the office conference room

after opening prayer in the Greatroom at 6:30pm.

Children’s RCIA will gather in the hallway by the

Greatroom at 6:30pm before going to class.

2017 Men’s Cursillo Weekend: On October 19-22 the

annual Men’s Cursillo Weekend will be held at Jubilee

House in Abingdon. Cursillo is a program/process that is

intended to bring its participants to a closer relationship

with Christ, with themselves, and with others. It will also

enhance their evangelization of their own Catholic Faith.

Cursillo is a time-tested, spiritually developed worldwide

movement dating back to the 1950’s and enthusiastically

endorsed by Pope Francis. The weekend is led by a team of

experienced leaders who introduce Catholic approved

theology with personal witnessing. This year, Fr. Tim

Drake and Deacon Jose Melendez will serve as part of the

team. The cost of the weekend is $150, with some

scholarships available. We’d like to have Oct. 10 as the

Our next Baptismal Preparation Class is scheduled for

Saturday, October 7, 2pm-4pm in the Great Room.

If you have a child under the age of 7 who needs

baptism or you are expecting the birth of your child

CCW Gathering — All Parishioners are Invited

One hundred years ago, in 1917, Our Lady of Fatima

appeared on earth several times with the distinct

message of God’s concern for His people. To

commemorate these events, the Council of Catholic

Women will be celebrating with a recitation of the

story and the praying of the Rosary. A Soup and Salad

Dinner will follow. Join us on Monday, Oct. 9, 6pm,

at the KofC Hall (125 18th St., Bristol, TN) All

members of the parish are cordially invited. Please

sign up in the commons next weekend (Oct. 7/8) so we

know how much food to prepare.

Attention: ALTAR SERVERS

(those currently serving and

those who would like to serve in this ministry!)

If you missed the Training/Refresher held a

few weeks ago, please plan to attend the

session this coming Saturday, Oct. 7 at

6:45 p.m. (after the 5:30 Mass).

We have some procedural changes this

year — so if you can’t make the training

please contact the office!!

Catholic Adults in good standing with the Church, and

Catholic children & teens over age 10 may serve in

this ministry.

COATS for KIDS

St. Anne’s School will be collecting new and gently

used Coats for Kids for King University’s winter coat

drive for children. Bring coats in to the school office or

the parish office by Oct. 16.
