Dear Friend,

American Friends of the Hebrew University is proud to invite you to participate in our President’s Mission

2018: A Centennial Celebration marking the 100th anniversary of the cornerstone laying of the Hebrew

University of Jerusalem. Please join Meera and me as we lead this memorable and meaningful journey

to Berlin and Jerusalem. In recognition of this historic occasion, our explorations, especially in Berlin, will

highlight Albert Einstein’s role as a founder of the Hebrew University and as a visionary scientist and

humanitarian whose profound impact is still felt today.

Upon arriving in Jerusalem, we will be greeted by our Hebrew University family, including faculty, students,

and alumni, and enjoy exciting events that offer intellectual nourishment. The university’s 81st International

Board of Governors is themed “Inspiration, Innovation, and Impact: The Next 100 Years.” We will meet with

Israeli thought leaders, dignitaries, award-winning scientists, and scholars and hear from the next generation

of innovators who are revolutionizing medicine, technology, agriculture, and the humanities. We will also pay

tribute to American Friends whose philanthropic leadership is paving the way for new discoveries.

Please join us as we celebrate the many transformative ways in which the Hebrew University has contributed

to Israel and our world over just ten decades.

With best regards,

Marc O. and Meera Mayer
