FSLA’s impact on workload◦ No major additional workload expected

The ease and convenience of the electronic workflow / process approval should lessen any additional actions.

◦ Revisions of the FSLA’s will be automatically generated.◦ All required approvals will be accessible through Faculty

Self Service.◦ Accessibility will be limited by security associated to

users account. For the electronic workflow/process approval, you

should only see those FSLA’s requiring your attention.

Header Upper Left: Semester/term, Department, Upper Right: Date Run Left & Bolded- Employee ID and Name

Subject

The subject code for the discipline (as shown in Catalog with number), for teaching and non-teaching assignments. Non-Classroom assignments types that can also be listed here. See the assignment type list at the bottom of this guide.

Catalog The Catalog number as shown in Catalog in combination with Subject code.

Class# Class number from the class schedule.

Sect Section number from the class schedule.

CombCombination code that indicates that classes are combined classes and are generally taught together and share a workload, as one class, can be referred to as a Real/True Combined Class.

DaysThe days of the week the class meets. If the class is If the class is “Web”, “TBA” or at an office campus location (see Facility below), then this field will be blank.

Start TmThe start time for the class. If the class is “Web”, “TBA” or at an office campus location (see Facility below), then this field will be blank.

End TmThe end time for the class. If the class is “Web”, “TBA” or at an office campus location (see Facility below), then this field will be blank.

FacilityLocation of the class. Will show building and room or may indicate “Web” for online class/distance learning.

Faculty Service Load Agreement (FSLA) GuideEffective through Spring 2012 (18-week Calendar)

Lec Hrs For a lecture class, the number of hours per week.

Lab Hrs For a lab class, the number of hours per week.

Assgn Assignment Type codes – see the assignment type code list at the bottom of this guide.

% RespPercent of responsibility; 100% indicates instructor has full responsibility for the class, anything less than 100% indicates instructor shares responsibility of class.

TU Number of TU’s at which the assignment is valued. The Assignment type, % of responsibility, and assignment length are factors to determine this value.

%FTEFPercent of Full Time Equivalency Faculty. A full load for a full time instructor will total 100% when all assignments are included.

Atyp BegAtypical class beginning date – any assignment that is for a different duration than the full semester, will indicate the beginning date here.

Atyp EndAtypical class end date – any assignment that is for a different duration than the full semester, will indicate the end date here.

SessionSession code – related to the class length. A full semester class will show “1”. Shorter (different from full semester) length assignments will show different codes.

Tot Hrs Total Hours for the assignment.

Acct Num Account number from which the assignment is funded.
