“Flunking of the CA Federation of Teachers”

In a little-reported move during their 2011 convention, the California Federation of Teachers passed Resolution 19 to “Reaffirm support for a death-row journalist”. The “journalist” they are referring to is convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal who was sentenced to death for murdering a Philadelphia police officer during a routine traffic stop in 1981. I don’t wish to get into the specifics of this case which you can do by doing a google-search on his name and read for yourself. What troubles me most is the fact that of all the troubles with our education system in the United States and especially here in CA, this group can’t find other, more meaningful resolutions to pass?

Their resolution states in part that Abu-Jamal “has for decades as a journalist fought courageously against racism and police brutality and for the human rights of all people and has taken strong stands in support of working people involved in labor struggles and in support of well-funded, quality, public education,”. That all sounds great but the man was convicted of murdering a police officer in cold blood and whether they believe that he is innocent or was framed is irrelevant. How about they pass a resolution to focus their attentions to the irregularities and failings in the classrooms and rampant waste in state and local administrations throughout the state of CA? Perhaps they should follow their own words and focus on “what’s in the best interests of students in the classroom” and leave the prosecution of crime to the professionals. Maybe the Fraternal Order of Police should pass a resolution at their convention condemning the low student test scores and the failing CA education system. My guess is THAT would make the news, no idea why this resolution didn’t.

Building RelationshipsJust remember the golden rule, be kind and treat others as you wish to be

treated. And if you cannot say something nice, don’t say anything at all. We live in a world where sarcasm is humor. It can be very hurtful. The key is to focus on the good in others and their potential if you want people to be attracted to you and want to spend time with you or do business with you. Complement people even on the little things like what they are wearing, or their hair, or their smile, or something positive about them. You can always find something positive about a person. Remember when someone made you feel good about yourself, what was it they said?

The business world can be a dog eat dog world, every person for themselves, gotta watch your back. So in order to build those trusting professional relationships you have to be confident but not prideful or arrogant. You have to be gracious rather than judgmental. You must learn to be respectful not bossy, sincere, not phony. In business, people want to feel good about those they are doing business with; it’s all about trust and respect.

Making people feel important can be as simple as remembering their name and pronouncing it correctly. It makes people feel valued and important when you do. I have always had to work on remembering names. So I play word games in my head or I repeat their name back to them. If I just met John for the first time I would say, “John, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” Put importance on remembering their name and they will feel valued and want to listen to what you have to say.

Investment Real Estate Group

Take Action So, you’re sitting in your chair, and like millions of other Americans are still wary of this real estate thing. Many people think it’s unreliable and dangerous – and considering the past 8 years, I don’t blame them! For the uninformed public, right now Real Estate is very scary stuff! We even had the government paying people to buy houses (remember Obama money?) and still people sit on the sidelines. Here’s the truth, what most people don’t know about Real Estate; right now, while you’re sitting in your chair reading this, right now houses are more affordable than they have been in over 40 years. We have the lowest interest rate ever seen (did you know you pay far more for your house in interest than in actual purchase price?) With all these contractors out of work, Rehab and repair are dirt cheap – 11k for a kitchen remodel in 2005, probably 6k right now. And still, you’re sitting there reading. Right now, as you’re reading this, houses are cheaper to buy than the land they are on. America is for sale, and you’re still sitting there! All of these benefits aside, did you know that real estate can offer you passive income – investment income is taxed lower than active, working income. Not only that, but when you replace that old roof – you claim that as a tax deduction and write it off! How does no more taxes ever sound to you? You owe it to yourself to go out to your local Real Estate Investment Club and learn about these things, this market—you owe it to yourself to cash in on the FIRESALE! Or, of course, you could just sit there.

Attorney ControlClients often try to direct me on how to handle their legal matter. I always

acknowledge that they are the client and are paying the bill, so I always need to listen to them and adapt my style to their needs, if possible. However, when a client continually tries to control how I lawyer their case, I ask them two questions: 1) If I let you control me, why do you think I won’t let the party on the other side control you?; and 2) if your methods are more effective than mine, why did you have to hire me to help solve your problem? Most of the time those questions are enough. Sometimes they aren’t. Those clients find another attorney.

Sweetheart Contract With Prison Guards Puts Jerry’s Cause At Odds With Deficit

While the press covered Gov. Jerry Brown’s effort to close the state’s huge budget gap, a subtle and non-public negotiation was taking place that would raise the state’s deficit even higher over a period of time. That behind closed doors activity was the Gov’s contract negotiation with California’s Correctional Peace Officers Association. It has gone to the legislature for final approval, but, as they say, the devil is in the details.

The CCPOA spent nearly $2 million to get Brown elected. Now, for their generous support, Brown has included in the Guard’s contract a provision that will provide a huge cash windfall when they retire. The language basically says that the Guards can accrue an unlimited number of vacation days that they can cash in, at their final pay rate, when they retire.

In the past, all government employees could only accrue 80 days of vacation before they were required to expend it or lose it at the end of the fiscal year. Now, Brown has removed that stipulation, allowing Guards to accrue an estimated $600 million current cash value. This is not the direction the state should be going when it is facing a $26 billion deficit, major cuts to education (our future workforce), and denial of medical benefits to the less fortunate.

To top off the cake Brown is handing the Guards, there is also a provision that says they can receive an extra $130 per month for staying fit. Not even the “Biggest Loser” has that kind of long-term cash incentive.

Gov. Jerry Brown has not changed in 30 years and is quietly giving away the store while we watch the ball on TV newsrooms telling us how hard it is for him to negotiate a budget with Republicans.

Fine Foods FindYears ago, I met a fella who would get so excited about certain foods he

would break into a sweat. I’m not there, but I am so enthusiastic about my new find - that I am close! It all started with my jury summons last month where I met a young woman from Russia. We were trying to make the best use of our time and started talking. After learning her background, of course had to ask if she was able to find familiar items in our area. Thus, begins this exploration of European delicacies.

We will begin with the potato salad that was so finely diced that each ingredient was the same size as the petite green pea and still held its own within the delicate dressing. This is complimented by other salads including cucumber, red cabbage (terrific) and many more. The aroma of fresh baked bread was irresistible. The dough is made in Germany and then shipped frozen and baked at the store. I came home with a pull-apart sweet bread with cherry filling. The smoked sausage, we think salami, was wonderful along with a bologna that was delicate like a pate. This experience had to finish with a sampling of the candy. Each chocolate piece was wrapped separately with a perfect surprise filling.

The Good Neighbor store on College Oak Blvd. is the source. It started very small fifteen years ago and has grown into a full service grocery store that services customers not only from the Sacramento area, but the Bay Area and Reno. Ukrainian and Russian are spoken as well is the wide screen TV above the cash register that is playing a soap opera. The staff is very helpful and will gladly give samples of salads made by the market’s deli and of the different sausages.

I now can add Europe to my hometown travels.

Q. What does the green economy mean to me; I design weddings? R. Marketing your business is about matching your products and services

to what customers desire or need. Customers for everything from computers to wedding dresses are expressing a growing interest in buying “Green.” So, refresh your marketing plan by adding green wedding planning to the services you provide. This different approach to wedding design will open you up to refreshing new ways to think about your business and put you on the top of the list for echo-sensitive brides and grooms. Look for ideas using recycled products – everything from glass to dresses can be found recycled. Look for LEED certified buildings for events, and take advantage of a paperless or other green theme. Set your imagination free and you will find a world of sustainable and affordable resources to turn the weddings you design into beautiful referrals.

Gold River resident and local entrepreneur, Andrew Rogers recently returned from the California Future Business Leaders Association (FBLA) State Leadership Conference in Santa Clara. Rogers, a junior at Jesuit High School was joined by 15 of his Jesuit classmates and over 2,000 high school students from throughout the state. The annual conference offers leadership training, and administers statewide competitions. Andrew participated in his first ever competition – impromptu public speaking. He placed in the top ten competing against students from dozens of California high schools. Each competitor was given a prompt, ten minutes to gather his or her thoughts and then makes a three minute speech. The first topic was: “No journey in the wrong direction will lead you to the right destination”. Twelve students were selected to compete in the finals. The second prompt was “Professionals never have the opportunity to not give 100%.” Each student was judged on posture, speaking ability, continuity and content. Andrew challenged the first prompt stating that at any point of a journey you meet people from whose experience and wisdom you can learn, thus guiding you in the right direction. In the final round, Andrew spoke about the most professional person he knew – his paternal grandfather. He utilized a favorite statement of his “Poppa’s” – “You never back down to adversity; you make adversity back down to you.” Andrew enjoyed his experience and is looking forward to his senior year at Jesuit. He hopes to take a leadership role in FBLA well as spending time playing competitive soccer and managing his own small business.

Wannapreneur A Moment of Happiness

The Basics of Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the art of dressing up your website so that Google looks favorably upon it. A high ranking by Google could be a source of free leads – potentially a lot of free leads. And who would argue with that?

There are three key things that you, or your webmaster, can do this month to greatly improve your organic search chances. In fact if you forward this article to your web person, and they follow through with these simple recommendations, I’d bet that in the coming months you’ll start to see a definite improvement in your traffic – at least in terms of the keyword that you decide to “optimize” your site for.

1. Pick one search phrase that you want to be known for. Just one. And you want to be specific, but not ultra specific. Let’s go with “Sacramento Small Business Consultant” as an example here.

2. Match up the “title tag” of your webpage to this term. What’s the title tag? That’s the text on the very top of the webpage – above the URL line. Today, your site’s title tag might be something like “Home”, or maybe the name of your company. You should change this. Why? Because Google already knows the name of your firm – it’s smart!

3. Ideally, match up your domain as well. If your title tag read “Sacramento Small Business Consultant”, and your URL was something like http://www.sacramentosmallbizconsultant.com/, I would really like your odds with Google for this search phrase.

We could write pages upon pages on the topic of search engine optimization – and you could also spend a lot of time on it. But I’m a fan of paying attention to the critical few factors that can drive most of your positive results – and I think these steps are a great start.

I try to plan moments of happiness. I’m very fortunate to have found joy in reading what I want to read. It’s my choice for my interests. When I was in grade school and high school, teachers required I read books that were very uninteresting to me. I found out later the books were uninteresting to many other kids, too. I didn’t read all those books; I faked it, just to get a passing grade. I remember going to the library to read one of the REQUIRED books. I fell asleep within 2 pages. When I got college the professors gave required reading also, ugh! They required I read many books that bored me. All these classes were to make me better rounded (in the brain). I did find some reading more interesting than others. Then I was given a required reading assignment that kept me awake. That one assignment changed my interest in reading. I started looking for books and information in areas that truly interested me. Wow! What a difference. I now for several years have been reading books, reports, blogs, and more on subjects that interest me. Oh, by the way it’s not one subject. I look at it like this. When the movie Matrix came out I saw how quickly information was transferred to the brain of actor Keanu Reeves, his ability to use what he learned through instant knowledge injected via a cartridge placed in the back of his head. This was outstanding. We don’t quite have that ability, yet. I share with my kids how through reading their subjects of interest, they’re able to information in their brain and mix it with other information that is stored in their brain. When a person mixes information in their brain creative ideas can be born. This can be innovations, inventions, techniques, and more. It can be fruitful for you, your family, your community, or the world. Long story short, “A Moment of Happiness” I look forward to each day is: Waking up earlier than necessary (many times 4:00 AM) having a hot cup of coffee and a nonfiction book of my interest, or other nonfiction reports, or blogs that stimulate my brain. What a great way for me to start my day. Please send me one of your moments of happiness. Email: [email protected] for a reply to make sue we received it. We may share it through our publications.

Live Sheep ShearingAt Fairytale Town…Saturday, May 21, 2011-

11AM to 3PM

Farmer Brown showcases Fairytale Town’s friendly barnyard animals at the Fourth Annual Farms, Friends and Fairytales event. On Saturday, May 21, visitors can see Fairytale Town’s twin Babydoll sheep, Lucy and Ethel, lose their winter coats with an old fashioned sheep shearing. Then the fun continues as a wool spinner, spins the wool on a spinning wheel to create yarn. Another unique activity is a yummy one! Children can learn how to make their very own ice cream. Farms, Friends & Fairytales is an annual event that is not to be missed.

Children and parents alike during the event will learn about each of the facility’s animals, which include unique and miniature breeds such as Fairyatle Town’s latest addition, a Hereford Cow who just turned 1 year old, and others such as a miniature Sicilian Donkey, Nigerian Dwarf Goats, Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pigs, and rabbits. Farmer Brown will showcase Fairytale Town’s animals and share information on their care and maintenance, and their daily lives interacting with park guests.

Farms, Friends and Fairytales is a celebration of everything agriculture. Families can visit with a variety of organizations that help bring agricultural products to market. While you wander the grounds learning all about agriculture, you can listen to live music provided by the Loose Acoustic Trio, and visit with our Barnyard Buddies who live at Fairytale Town. At this event children will not only recall the familiar nursery rhymes that include these animals, but learn how they contribute to our society and lives.

“Most urban children don’t have the chance to see live farm animals. Fairytale Town is a unique environment where we can combine teaching how these animals contribute to our society and represent the fairytales children know so well. It’s one more opportunity to help promote literacy and education - which is our core mission,” said Kathy Fleming, Fairytale Town’s Executive Director.

Event Details: What: Farms, Friends & Fairytales; When: Saturday, May 21, 2011; Time: 11AM - 3PM Cost: $4.50 per person; children age 1 & under are free; Where: Fairytale Town, 3901 Land Park Drive, Sacramento CA 95822. Contact phone: 916-808-7462, Website: www.fairytaletown.org.

Telling Children the Truth About Infidelity Part 2

When children are unable to deal with the confusion and shame, anger and resentment that arise from a family’s infidelity scenario, they very often act out their painful emotions. A young child may withdraw socially, have temper tantrums or engage in other disruptive behavior. An older child of infidelity may become involved in substance abuse, sexual promiscuity, or other self-destructive behavior as a way to bury the hurt or demonstrate unacknowledged feelings about their parent’s actions.

Rather than confront the distasteful, often shocking, reality that one of their parents sexually cheated on the other, children may distract themselves with unhealthy, self-abusive activities. If they identify with the betrayer, they may feel that lies are okay if you are pursuing an activity or a relationship you enjoy—and that it’s just a matter of not getting caught and learning how to cheat effectively. If their sympathies lie with the betrayed parent, older children and adult children may become victims of infidelity themselves; or they may choose partners with whom they can be the betrayer and thus act out a kind of revenge against their cheating parent.

Parents usually want to teach their children what is good for them, not necessarily what is true. But by hiding the truth, unfaithful parents create confusion by telling their children what they believe is “good” for them while at the same time engaging in actions that contradict that “good” information—or, rather, disinformation. Being told one thing by your parent and knowing that the opposite is true results not only in confusion but anger and distrust. Children sense when they’re being told a lie, even when parents try to cover it up. Unfortunately, attempting to deceive a child and pretending that everything is fine only compounds the confusion and emotional damage of parental infidelity.

Games & Gaming

Wii2 in the WorksWhen it was released Wii was certainly one of the hottest things to hit the

gaming market in quite sometime. Now five years later it seems to have lost quite a bit of its luster and coolness. So it shouldn’t be a shock to anybody to hear that Nintendo the maker of Wii is potentially soon releasing a new version of the popular Wii gaming console. The blogosphere has been discussing new version of the Wii. Reportedly the next-generation Wii is being developed under the code name of “Project Cafe” and will have an in-built sensor bar, dual analog sticks, a standard d-pad, and trigger buttons. It is also reported that it will have full HD support. Of course all those features together would require a more powerful processor so that is reportedly in the works as well. Some claim the new processor will make the new version of the Wii console even more powerful then an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.

With sales declining for the Wii since other consoles like the Xbox 360 have adopted motion sensor technology like Kinect, it is quite likely that a new updated five-year-old game console with no major updates in tow, the Nintendo Wii has been in the news an awful lot this month. Perhaps then the next generation of Wii can reclaim its title as the hottest thing out there in console gaming. Stay tuned to the big E3 Expo the big global game industry event in June of this year to see if Nitendo does in fact announce the existence of Wii 2.

Prospering in the New Economy

By Darren Bocksnick

Job candidates, business owners and entrepreneurs all find themselves in a similar position: they must draw from their reservoir of talents and experiences, education and ambition- just to land the next opportunity. The current economic trend is forcing every opportunity seeker to reach further and push harder than they have done in times’ past such as continuing their education or developing some new set of skills so they can have a broader palette of qualifications to offer a potential employer or client. In other words, opportunity seekers must re-invent themselves to stay on top and remain competitive in today’s economic climate. Here are a few pointers to help you thrive in today’s “new economy”.

1) Make Personal Development a Priority: In its simplest form, the art of re-inventing oneself is actively engaging in some form of personal development on one level or another. Personal development could be in the way of education, certifications, hands-on experience or other, similar ventures so long as in the end-result- you become something better than you had been before.

2) Be Open to New Opportunities: As you grow with each new challenge and master it; new doors will undoubtedly open unto you that are filled with greater challenges and even more rewarding opportunities. Yet, one cannot gain momentum standing still; neither can there be any reward discovered until firstly, there is a risk encountered and ultimately, overcome.

3) Pursue your Passion: Some people never discover their passion in life and are therefore, left unfulfilled, aimless and without ever knowing their full potential. Still others do discover their passion but never pursue it because they are either too discouraged from life’s pressures or too distracted with temporal pleasures to regain their focus and start the chase. The truly fulfilled and contented individual is he or she who not only discovers his or her potential but who lays everything else aside to pursue it unabashedly.

Be a success and prosper! Ways to Raise Money Smart Kids (Part 2)

#1: Make Saving Money Easy – If you give your child an allowance, give them the money in denominations that allow for them to easily save. If the amount is $5, give them 5 one dollar bills and encourage them to set at least one dollar aside for their savings.#2: Take it to the bank! – As soon as children learn to read and write, take them to the bank and open up a custodial account. Encourage them to make frequent deposits so they can watch their bank balance grow. When they are older, they can get student checking accounts to learn how to manage spending.#3: Is there a record of it? – Keeping good records of money saved, invested, or spent is another important skill young people must learn. To make it easy, they can use 12 envelopes, 1 for each month, with a larger envelope to hold all the envelopes for the year or you can use a spreadsheet. It really depends on the child’s style. Establish this system for each child in the family. #4: Going Shopping! – Going to the grocery store is often a child’s first experience with money. Spending smart at the grocery store (using coupons, shopping sales, comparing unit prices) can save thousands of dollars each year for a family with children. To help kids learn, show them how to compare prices per item/oz/lb etc. Ask them questions to help them figure out what is the best item to purchase. On other shopping trips, you can talk to your kids about quality products, warranties, and other things to consider when making purchases.#5: Let them spend! – Whether they make a great purchase or a poor purchase, they will learn from their spending choices. You can then initiate an open discussion of spending pros and cons before they make another purchase. Do not fall into the “I-told-you-so” conversation trap because they will stop listening. Asking them questions and letting them come to the conclusions on their own is the best method of teaching. Encourage them to do research and consider other things they could do with that money before making a purchase.

Frustrated in Empire VillageDear Betty,

My husband and I watch TV together. I’ll make a comment but he just doesn’t seem to listen. He doesn’t pay attention to me. What do I do?

Dear Frustrated,I hear you! I use to say that about my husband, too. Then, I learned something

that changed my life and our relationship. Men and women’s brains are wired differently. Men were the hunters and needed to be extremely focused on one thing – watching and tracking the prey. So when your husband is watching television, if he has a typical male brain, he is focusing on one thing - the program. In all likeliness, he wants to listen to you but his brain is designed in a way that makes it almost impossible to follow the TV and listen to you. So, don’t take it personal.

Women, on the other hand, are wired to multi-task. Traditionally they cared for the children, watching over them, keeping them safe while hunting for berries or tending to other chores. Most women I know can go out for dinner, know exactly what is happening at their table while listening to the conversation at the next table. They think that is normal and that everyone, including men have that ability. Well, they don’t.

We invested in a DVR machine for our television. Now, when my man is watching TV and I want to tell him something, I say, “Excuse me, dear.” He stops the programming and gives me his undivided attention! You might want to do the same.

“You become what you think about.” —Earl Nightingale: Author, The Strangest Secret, Lead the FieldFive minutes. That’s all it takes to turn these inspirational quotes into a better life for you. Seriously. You’ve probably been receiving these motivational quotes in your inbox for a while. And perhaps you’re waiting for your life to magically take off because you’ve been reading them. But as Earl Nightingale knew, it doesn’t work like that. Rather, you must spend a little time digesting each quote, thinking about what these great philosophers mean and how you can apply their message to your own life. Only then will you discover what others have — that these simple quotes can make a monumental impact on your life. Read. Think. Take the right action. Then become.

When you read quotes from great thinkers. You must spend a little time digesting each quote. What does the quote mean and how can you APPLY the message to your own way of life. A simple quote used as an affirmation can make a huge impact on your life. Read. Think. Take the right action. You then become.

“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”—Jim Rohn: Author and motivational speaker

Think back to a time, either at school or in your business, when you were told to break out into teams — rather than work individually. What happens to the teammates who do not come prepared with ideas on day one? They were forced to accept others’ opinions and others’ work as their own — they took a backseat. The same thing happens in your life. Fail to plan, and the rest of the world will continue to march forward, while you are left in the backseat.

When I recently met Gary Stalick and asked why he started a community newspaper, I was deeply touched by his story. I suggested that he share this story with his readers. Long story, short, he asked if I would write the story…so here it is! On September 11, 2001 --- a day we will never forget --- Gary witnessed a life-altering, event on television as airplanes flew into and destroyed the twin towers in New York City . His reaction was, “Oh, no, this is my country. I have got to do something. I have got to step up and do something. But what?” A day later that something grew clearer. Gary walked outside and saw the American flag flying free on his neighbor’s home. He was both humbled and inspired. You see, his neighbors were originally from Iran, and knowing what great people they were, thought they might be scared His need to do something grew stronger. Gary now wanted to do something for the world, not just his country. He realized that he may not be able to

do something for the entire world but he could start to make a difference in the smaller world of his own community. What could he do? What would make a difference? A paper…a newspaper about our community…stories about people…the goodness of people…the inspirational stories that touch us all...the celebrations of life. That’s what he could do! And so, Gary’s vision of bringing people in our community, together, was born. Then, reality kicked in. He had no idea how to bring a community newspaper into existence. For nine months he read dozens of books, studied, and researched. He constantly had to override his fear and logic of doing something he did not know how to do. But his commitment to bring people together propelled him forward. In August 2002, the first edition of the Gold River Community Newspaper was published. On the front page was a photo of his 16-year old daughter at the raising of the American flag at our own Gold River Community Center!

In this interview, Gary said a provocative thing, “I miss front porches. Neighborhoods with people sitting out on their porches are conducive to people stopping, chatting and connecting for a few minutes.” One of the challenges with Gold River is that we have no porches. We automatically drive into our garages, close the door and disconnect ourselves from our local world. We turn on the news and get bombarded with all the problems in the big world. The irony is that stopping and talking with a neighbor or heaven forbid, a stranger walking by, actually has us connect at a basic level of our humanity…through conversation. Almost nine years later, sitting in Starbuck’s – a favorite connection place in Gold River– Gary finds himself getting re-inspired by what a small local paper can provide for people in our ever-disconnected, isolated world. A community paper is a warm, friendly expression of the local world we live in. Although the strict CC&Rs of Gold River

would not allow us to build front porches on our houses, it occurs to me that the Gold River Community Newspaper is much like a front porch. Let’s start using it more in this simple and powerful way! Share your stories, big and small. You never know who you might touch or connect with in our community…in our world. Take that slogan of ‘think local’ to heart and then, put it into action. You may not start a newspaper but smile and say “good morning!” to the next stranger you pass on the trail. Wave thanks when another person stops their car and lets you cross in the parking lot. Leave your garage door open for a few minutes and chat with the next person walking by. That would make a positive difference for you, for another human being and for our community. You add to the goodness of life! Thank you, Gary, for your vision, your story, and your commitment to our community! Here’s to front porches and the Gold River Community Newspaper --- bringing us together!

We’ve all been brought up with the idea that every spring we should clean our homes from end to end and freshen up for our health. This might have come from the idea that in spring, things are fresh and new and cleaning the home will renew your feelings about yourself.

1. Improve Your Health Without Diets Or Pills

Pollens, mold, and mildew spores are dumped into the air at incred-ible intensity. Pollutants from car exhaust, burning fields, and cigarette smoke were also dumped into the stagnant air. All this gunk drifted into your home and when you closed the house up, where do you suppose it’s been ever since? It got trapped in your home. Thanks to today’s air tight, energy efficient homes, your family and guests have been breathing that recycled air-garbage. 2. Your Home Is Your Personal Breeding Ground For Invisible Crit-ters And Varmints In addition to the air-garbage from outside, you have uncontrolled vermin inside. Too tiny to see, dust mites live in your carpet, upholstery, bedding and drapes by the millions. By now their dead bodies and dung are in your house by the billions. They live off your dead skin as do billions of bacteria in your home, including those that cause staph and strep infections. Ever wonder why so many people get strep as soon as it cools off outside? Now you know. Plus, fleas brought into your house last summer don’t die off like they do outside when it freezes. Bacteria and germs have been breeding in the warm fibers of your carpet.

3. Does Your Bedroom Smell Like A Gerbil? Here’s Why…

Besides being Harmful to our health, all the germs, bacteria and crit-ters that live off dead skin from us and our pets, stink. They eat skin and along with other excretions, put out tainted methane gas which smells bad. 4. Heavy Soil From Outside Sifts Deep Into Your Carpet Never To Be Seen Again Until the winter rains have washed the sand soil from the roads and sidewalks, heavy soils from outside are tracked onto your carpet, wiggle down deeper than your vacuum can reach and stay there, grinding your carpet down into worthless fibers. You’ll find them in your vacuum bag.

Choosing a company can be treacherous. I’ll tell you up front that my service is not for everybody, but here are some reasons to choose me: If all you want is a cheap, brush-the-dirt-off-the-sur-face cleaning, lots of companies can help you. Choose us when you want deep, thorough cleaning. We’ll give you the fluffiest, freshest, healthiest, longest lasting, clean carpets possible . . .

5. Finally – Someone Who Can Remove Those Ugly Black Lines By The Walls, or Crevice of Steps I’ve had new clients call us to evaluate some embarrassing black lines where the carpet meets the wall and at the edges of steps and jagged lines under curtains. They told me no carpet cleaner could get them out and in some cases they had tried up to five different firms. But the black remained. I inspected these lines and found the cause to be an air filtration problem. With extra effort and knowledge on our part, the ugly black lines can be removed.
