My name is Natasha King and I have a love affair with photography. Not just any type of photography but with photography that captures your child, as they are, right now. This mad love affair started right after the birth of my son. I couldn’t get enough pictures of him at home and the “chain” photography places only gave me sterile pictures that told me nothing about my son’s personality. Instead of being frustrated, I began to educate myself more about photography and made the decision to seek my MFA in Photography. I am now two short semesters away from obtaining that degree and I couldn’t be happier.

In the course of my degree I have been asked many times to sum up myself in one sentence and I say with pride, “I am a wife, a mother, and a photographer.” But to my clients I say, “I am you.”

I use my experiences as a parent to take better pictures of your child. I know that children have their own agenda and their is little we adults can do but relax and enjoy that ride. So I do!

When you love what you’re doing it shows in your work.

I am super excited to announce my part-nership with Custom Cake Creations by Constance. Constance is the preferred baker for Smash Cake sessions and all cakes ordered will be delivered to the studio and waiting for you on the day of your session.

What inspired you to start this business? I fell in love with baking about 8 years ago while in college (am I telling my youngness! Lol). While on a journey to understand how to eat healthier, I start-ed incorporating healthier choices into my baking. Then I started thinking about how many people I know who are super busy and never had the time to bake, but don’t want all the icky preservatives that are used in a store. I just sprouted the idea to friends over dinner, and they urged me to do it! So here I am.

What sets your business apart from other people? Each cake is completely custom. If someone wants nuts, they get it. If they need blue agave nectar used instead of sugar, it may take a week or two, but we’ll make their cake just the way they like it! : ) I specialize in baking with as many organic and natural ingredients as possible (eggs, milk, sugar, flour, etc). I also use a special whole grain flour blend in my cakes. I only use white sugar when making a buttercream frosting...and I’m even looking at how to change that! I offer gluten-free and vegan op-tions, and am also researching how to better serve the diabetic market. What is told to be “sugar-free” isn’t better for the body. These products contain aspartme, are way over-processed, and just not good for the body.

What is the turn-around time for orders? Most orders, especially signature cakes, can be fulfilled in 24-48 hours. Specialized cakes (birthday, wedding, etc) can take up to one week or more.

Smash Cake Successes!

These two cuties both have birthdays in December so their Mom opted to do a joint smash cake session with a cupake for her 3 year old. When you have two young kids and a free for all with cake, you never know what you’re going to get. But we ended up with priceless moments that document the bond of two sisters. Yet another reason why, I aim to capture moments, not just pictures.

Too Cool For School Portraits

Have you ordered school portraits only to have them come home and look noth-ing like the child you know and love? Well I have! And that is what made me decide to offer the “Too Cool For School” Portraits.

This super fun session will allow you to capture your child as they are now and even add some fun elements to remem-ber. Let them bring a favorite item to personalize the pictures even more!

The (not-so) fine print: Deposit of half your package price is re-quired to hold your spot. The remainder is due at or before your session. Children only can not be used for other types of pictures.
