Between the daily work within the flowers greenhouse

and taking care of all the dogs and cats from us, some

of the latest news, beside the ones from the following

pages would be that Lola and Luna, the two moms,

were neutered and Lucille, the girl saved by Nancy

Janes, who will leave soon to Holland, has now a mi-

crochip and a passport. .

Also, we try very hard to gather the necessary funds for

rebuilding our old folds in order to prevent the dogs

from getting out from their places as Rina and her col-

league Cleo decided to do last days.

Rebuilding the folds and building some new ones in

order to avoid overcrowding in emergency situations is

a top one priority of great importance for us now.

Day by day

This month we had a special guest

- Nancy Janes from RAR, a special

person who’s helping a lot the ani-

mals from Romania.

Her visit has been a pleasure for us

and we hope it will repeat again

soon.

Oskar has been taken over by

APAM at the end of March. A

severely maltreated dog having

all the body punctured with

wires rod and the genital organ

cut, extremely frightened

needing sedation for capturing.

After many surgeries, for re-

moving the wires rod and for

his genital organ reconstruc-

tion (a drastic grooming being

also necessary), today Oskar,

with the moral and financial

help of many people, is totally

recovered and now he is shar-

ing the fold with little Tania,

the three legs girl.

He seems to forget what he’s

been through and to regain the

confidence in humans again.

tion was about to become ex-

tended.

They will continue to remain in

our care till any danger will be

gone and they will be stable,

and after that we will try to

find good homes for them too.

In the same time with Ma-

ronica and her puppies arrival,

two poor small cats, with seri-

ous eyes problems, arrived to

us in response to an desperate

call.

One of them had to have a

surgery in order to remove one

of the eyes because the infec-

Maronica is still fighting the

secondary effects of the dis-

ease, her ears and tail are ne-

crotic and her sight is still in

danger but she’s on the right

track.

Her puppies are healthy and

will finish their vaccination

scheme soon.

Maronica and her puppies

Maronica has been taken over

from Bucharest after she’s

been found in a very serious

condition because of babesio-

sis.

In Bucharest has been fought

very much for her life, includ-

ing blood transfusion.

She has 5 puppies who also

came to us with her. .

Seven puppies abandoned near Arad

In danger in Bucharest, 14 puppies and their mom

Eight puppies without eyes abandoned in Bucharest

We urgently responded to a call letting us know that

seven puppies were abandoned in a field near Arad.

We took them over and artificially fed them till they

begun to eat themselves. We’ve encountered prob-

lems with two of them but happily, with medical care,

we overcome the difficult moments.

Now they have a fold of their own, following to com-

plete the vaccination scheme and then to find adop-

tive families for them .

Currently, the six remained

ones, are eating themselves and

are healthy, following for them

also the vaccination scheme

and finding adoptive families.

For now, till we will have the

possibility to bring them to us,

they will remain in APAM-

Bucharest.

At the beginning of the month

we were receiving a call telling

us that eight puppies dumped

in a plastic bag at the garbage

were found.

They were taken over by our

colleague from Bucharest. Un-

fortunately two of them have

not survived although all of

them had permanent medical

care being very sensitive.

now Bianca and she and her

puppies have now a fold of

their own.

Bianca’s neutering is following

and also the puppies vaccina-

tion scheme and finding good

homes for them.

We’ve responded to an incredi-

ble call, a mom with no less

than 14 puppies, being in an

industrial area from the capi-

tal’s edge, in danger, without

food or water.

We’ve took them over urgently

and they arrived to us with

Maronica, her puppies and the

two kittens.

character; and it may be confidently asserted that he who is cruel to

During the month we’ve tried

to find a solution for the three

old dogs living for many years

near a block in Bucharest.

Some people living there did

not want them there anymore

and they were in danger so the

person taking care of them was

trying to find solutions. .

Unfortunately, at one moment,

the things precipitated, poison

has been found near them, so

the danger they were in was

imminent.

We had to urgently take them

over although we did not have

the possibility to build a fold

for them.

Now they are safely with us

and we hope we will be able to

build them a place of their own

and to offer them a peaceful

agedness as they deserve.

Sasha, the little girl thrown away into a public toilet in April

and who was luckily found on time by a young couple, saved

and cleaned and who than asked for our help, went out of

quarantine and begun the vaccination scheme following to try

and find a family for her also.

Sasha

She is still under treatment, she

recovers nicely and from now

on we will make sure she will

not suffer any more.

Renata

Renata has been abandoned

near us, in a rainy April evening.

When we were called we run to

get her and found her scarred

on the ground.

She suffers from a skin disease,

this being probably the reason

for which she’s been aban-

doned.

Radu, a severely maltreated

dog, abandoned in February

with a hanging eye and two

broken legs (on the same side)

has finally found his peace.

After many surgeries, taking

out his injured eye and trying

to recover the legs, a family

from Germany wished to offer

him a chance to a happy life.

So, in the middle of May, Radu

left at his new house where,

although will follow more sur-

geries and he will keep fighting

for his recovery, has now a

family all for himself who loves

him very much.

Greta, the little puppy saved

from Bucharest has now a new

name - Frieda - and she’s with

her family in Germany.

So little Elisa, saved also from

Bucharest, the 3 Yeti now

Yami, Yerrus and Yell, Petro-

nela and David got to their

homes this month.

over after the call from Nancy Janes and who

stayed with us till she could be taken to her adop-

with Nancy’s permanent support.

Abandoned in Bucharest in the Autumn of

2008.

She was standing in the street, on her piece of board and on her blanket given to her by some persons impressed by the suffering of an old abandoned sick dog. Her swelled joints allowed her to get up really difficult, her huge tumors were hanging grace-less making the ones looking to her to look the other way, the few remained teeth were not helping her to be able to feed herself anymore, her eyes covered by cataract were not allowing her to see anymore, her hearing was failing her too and her skin smelled repulsing. She was looked at as she was a wreck and so she was feeling like. We took her. First of all she received a new name...Marta. It followed the surgery for re-moving the tumors when she resisted heroic, and than treatments, baths, long walks. After few months of treatment she was out of quarantine and she met the other dogs. She received an armchair of her own and she was really happy about that, she begun to ac-

cept caress and even to ask for it, she learned to protest, to speak up if she wants some-thing, to play with toys, to carry out daily the shoes outside, to enjoy tickling, to be happy and jump around, to move her little piece of tail, to take down everything from the couch when she makes a mess there, to make noise with her bowl if she’s hungry. She learned to...enjoy life. It wasn’t easy for her, the years passed by were not deleted, her teeth did not grow up again, her joints are still swelled, her eyes did not became clear again and her hearing did not came back. She facing frequently various health problems but she always succeeds to win them over. The time is not standing still but she’s trying to be happy...the time she has left. She is not an adoptable dog, she is not a dog who today can start a new life again, she will remain with us till the end and she can be adopted from distance helping us to make the last days more beautiful for a nice and fight-ing old lady.

You can adopt from distance a dog or a cat from our shelter (even if you can not take him home) –
