Message from the CEO and State Librarian
Welcome to the September edition of the Connect eNewsletter. Over the winter months the State
Library has been a flurry of activity.
The Disrupted Festival of Ideas was a huge success attracting thousands of visitors to the
State Library on 29 and 30 July. For those that missed out you can view some of the
sessions via the Library's Facebook page.
The Library welcomed a government delegation from Zhejiang Province as part of the
celebration of 30 years of the Sister State relationship with Western Australia.
The Minister for Culture and the Arts, Hon. David Templeman MLA and the Premier’s wife,
Sarah McGowan paid Rhyme Time a special visit.
The JS Battye Library of West Australian History and the Western Australian Genealogy
Society hosted a number of National Family History Month activities.
Campaign material issued in relation to the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey, being held this
month, helps to tell the story of the cultural, social and political times in which we live. The State
Library is keen to collect material such as brochures, posters, badges, stickers or electronic
messages. Items can be provided in physical or electronic format by delivery to the State Library
Welcome Desk, posted to State Library of Western Australia, 25 Francis Street, Perth or emailed
as electronic copies to [email protected]
The State Library looks forward to welcoming you soon, either in person or online at
slwa.wa.gov.au and I hope you are inspired and excited by the activities below.
