ADMISSION OF NEW MEMBERS

Royal Geelong Yacht Club offers competitive sailing and social opportunities for individuals and families in our community. We have a range of membership categories avaliable to suit all ages and skill levels.

MEMBERSHIP CLASSIFICATION AT A GLANCEGOLD Membership is for yacht and boat owners aged 18 years and over, who race or use the club facilities, slipway, yard or marina to service, berth or store their vessel. Gold Members may participate in all club racing, boating and social events and enjoy the full benefits of Membership including discounts, facility use and reciprocal club rights.

Gold Members may vote in elections of Board Members, at General Meetings, and may also apply for appointment as a Member of the Board and/or Flag Officer of the Association.

SILVER Membership is for people aged 25 years and over. Silver Members may participate in all club racing, boating and social events. Members of this category receive the full bene-fits of Membership including discounts, facility use and reciprocal club rights.Members of this category are not eligible to own a vessel on the club register or vote at General Meetings.

BRONZE Membership is for people aged 18 to 25 years. Bronze members may participate in all club racing, boating and social events. Bronze Members may own a vessel on the club register(off-the-beach or dinghy). Members of this category are not eligible to vote at meet-ings.

BLUE Membership is for people aged 5 to 17 years. Blue Members may participate in club racing, boating and social events. Blue Members may own a vessel (off-the-beach or dinghy). Members of this category are not eligible to vote at meetings.

Note: Full time students, apprentices and trainees may apply for a rebate of up to 50% on Gold, Silver and Bronze memberships by providing appropriate verification
