RCIA
This year we will welcome nine people into the Church through Baptism, Confir-mation and Holy Eucharist at the Easter Vigil. They come from all walks of life and a variety of ages. We have three who will be completing their sacraments of initiation through Confirmation and Holy Eucharist. Their ages range from 16 to 76! We will also celebrate Confirmation with three young adults who have decid-ed they want full initiation into the Catholic Church. This ministry is a blessing as all these people have studied and long to share the richness of our faith. We ask your continued prayers for their journey.
COMMUNITY GARDEN ITEMS NEEDED
The parish is establishing a community garden as well as leasing three plots to interested parties this spring. We need items to help start this project. We are donating 50% of the harvest to St. Vincent DePaul clients, Mt. Washington Community Ministries and the program through Catholic Charities which helps at risk mothers. Items Needed: Hoses, Rakes, Shovels, Hoes, Trowels, Stakes, Tomato Cages, Fencing Materials, any gardening tools, mulch, seeds, vegetable starts, and a whiteboard. These items can be placed in the art and environment room. Contact Lisa Downs at the parish office for more information.
STEWARDSHIP INTENTION REMINDER
If you have not already done so, please remember to fill out your stewardship in-tention forms. This can be done online by going to our website (www.sfxmw.com) and click on Stewardship Intention followed with “start online stewardship form”
to begin the convenient process) or by filling out the form you received in the mail and returning it. This helps the parish in a variety of ways for planning for the up-coming year. We greatly appreciate all you do!
ASSUMPTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR CITIZEN PROM
Due to inclement weather, the following event was rescheduled for April 18, 2015: Assumption High School’s Junior Class Beta Club members will host the “Senior Prom: An Evening in Paris” for senior citizens at Assumption High School’s cafeteria (2170 Tyler Lane, Louisville) on Saturday, April 18, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The Bob Holt and The Prime Time Band will play music enjoyed by the seniors. There is no cost, but please call in advance to reserve your place: Terry Langley or Erica Lasley, Assumption High School @ 502/271-2531.
STEWARDSHIP ... is what I do after I say “I believe”…
“Your attitude must be Christ’s: though he was in the form of God he did not deem equality with God something to be grasped at.”
1Phillippians 2:5-6
The attitude of Adam was envy—wanting to be “like God.” The attitude of Christ is humility—wanting to be of service—even to dying on the cross for our sins. Service to others is the way of the steward.
