• Kehilangan gigi (full/partial)

• Kennedy• Applegate-Kennedy

Klasifikasi Kennedy

• Kelas I : daerah tak bergigi terletak di bagian posterior dari gigi yang masih ada dan berada pada ke dua sisi rahang (bilateral).

• Kelas II : daerah tak bergigi terletak di bagian posterior dari gigi yang masih ada, tetapi berada hanya pada salah satu sisi rahang saja (unilateral).

• Kelas III : daerah tak bergigi terletak di antara gigi-gigi yang masih ada di bagian posterior maupun anteriornya dan unilateral.

• Kelas IV : daerah tak bergigi terletak pada bagian anterior dari gigi-gigi yang masih ada dan melewati garis tengah rahang.

Applegate’s Rules

1. Dilakukan setelah semua pencabutan dilaksanakan2. Bila gigi 8 hilang dan tidak akan diganti, tidak masuk klasifikasi3. Bila gigi 8 hilang dan akan diganti, masuk klasifikasi

4. Bila gigi 7 hilang dan tidak akan diganti, tidak masuk klasifikasi5. Bagian tak bergigi paling posterior menentukan kelas utama dalam klasifikasi

6. Daerah tak bergigi lain , disebut Modifikasi7. Luas modifikasi/jumlah gigi tidak diperhitungkan, tambahan ruang edentulous does.8. No modification for Klas !V Kennedy

Klasifikasi Applegate-Kennedy

• Kelas I : daerah tak bergigi berupa sadel berujung bebas (free end) pada kedua sisi


• Kelas II: Daerah tak bergigi sama seperti Kelas II Kennedy


• Kelas III: keadaan tak bergigi paradental dengan dua gigi tetangganya tidak lagi mamapu memberikan dukungan pada protesa secara keseluruhan


• Kelas IV: daerah tak bergigi sama dengan Kelas IV Kennedy


• Kelas V: daerah dengan sadel tertutup dan gigi tetangga bagian depan tidak kuat menerima dukungan.


• Kelas VI: daerah dengan sadel tertutup dan kedua gigi tetangganya kuat.

Case

• Area edentulous pada gigi 17 16 13 11 24 26 27, gigi 18 dan 28 tidak ada dan tidak akan digantikan. Tentukan Klasifikasi Applegate-Kennedy

DENTURE

• Mc. Cracken :Suatu restorasi prostetik yang menggantikan gigi asli yang hilang dan bagian lain dari rahang yang tak bergigi baik sebagian maupun penuh, mendapat dukungan dari jaringan dibawahnya serta gigi abutment

Removable Partial Denture >> Definisi

• Geligi tiruan yang menggantikan satu atau lebih tetapi tidak semua gigi serta jaringan sekitarnya dan didukung oleh gigi dan atau jaringan dibawahnya, serta dapat dikeluarmasukkan dari dan ke mulut oleh pemakainya (Gunadi, dkk, 1995)

Removable Partial Denture >> Indikasi

• lengthy edentulous span (too long for a fixed prosthesis)

• no posterior abutment for a fixed prosthesis• excessive alveolar bone loss (esthetic problem)• poor prognosis for complete dentures due to residual

ridge morphology• reduced periodontal support of remaining teeth (won't

support a fixed prosthesis)• cross-arch stabilization of teeth• need for immediate replacement of extracted teeth• cost/patient desire considerations

Removable Partial Denture >> Kontraindikasi

• A lack of suitable teeth in the arch to support, stabilize, and retain the removable prosthesis.

• Rampant caries or severe periodontal conditions that threaten the remaining teeth in the arch.

• A lack of patient acceptance for esthetic reasons.• Chronic poor oral hygiene.

Fixed Partial Denture

• dental prostheses that are luted, screwed, or mechanically attached or otherwise securely retained to natural teeth, tooth roots, and/or dental implant abutments (Small, 2011)

Fixed Partial Denture >> Indikasi

• One or two adjacent teeth are missing in the same arch or sort span edentulous arch

• The supportive tissue are healthyAnte’s Rule

• Suitable abutment teeth are present• The patient is in good health and wants to have

the prosthesis placed• The patient has the skills and motivation to

maintain oral health• Patient preference

Fixed Partial Denture >> Kontraindikasi

• Necessary supportive tissues are missing• Suitable abutment teeth are not present• The patient is in poor health• The patient is not motivated to have the

prosthetis placed• The patient has poor oral hygiene habits• The patient cannot afford the treatment

Full Denture >> Definisi

• removable replacement for all the teeth and surrounding tissues

Full Denture >> Indikasi

• The patient is edentulous. • The remaining teeth cannot be saved. • The remaining teeth cannot support a removable

partial denture, and no acceptable alternatives are available.

• The patient refuses alternative treatment recommendations.

Full Denture >> Kontraindikasi

• Another acceptable alternative is available. • Physical or mental illness affects the patient's

ability to cooperate during the fabrication of the denture and to accept or wear the denture.

• The patient is hypersensitive to denture materials. • The patient is not interested in replacing missing

teeth.

Immediate Denture >> Definisi

• Type of denture that is placed immediately after the extraction of a patient's remaining anterior teeth. This type of denture serves as a compress and bandage to protect the surgical site.
