-- A Message from the Worthy President Hello Brothers and Sisters, I attended the Alberta/Saskatchewan Provincial Convention in

Lethbridge on the May long weekend and I was very happy how our memorial service went. We received high praise for a job well done. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the hall – it was that good! I also want to congratulate Gail Critchley on the position of Provincial Madam President, Lucille Lawrence for Provincial Madam Vice President, Malvena Banadyga for Provincial Madam Inside Guard, Terry McNabb for Provincial Junior

Past Worthy President, Jeremy Stinson for Provincial Worthy Conductor, and Gord Shaw for the position of Provincial Outside Guard. Good Work, Brothers and Sisters. Special Congratulations go out to Brother Dave Hickling, for being inducted into the FOE Grand Aerie Hall of Fame. So, the next big event to go on is the Stampede at the club with breakfasts and

entertainment from July 8-17, so keep an eye out in the club for notices of what goes on day to day. That is all the news I got for now so take care and see you all at the club.

Until next time,

Who could it be? Members of 2098 enjoy conversation and beverages out on

the patio in this undated photo. But, who are they? Check out our special ONLINE ONLY August edition of the Beak to

find out.

Are you an active member, the kind that would be missed? Or are you just contented, that your name is on the list? Do you attend the meetings and mingle with the flock? Or do you stay at home and criticize and knock? Do you take an active part to help and work along? Or are you satisfied just to belong? Do you voluntarily help a guiding stick? Or do you leave the work to just a few and talk about the clique? Come to the meetings often and help with hand and heart. Don’t be just member, but take an active part! Think this one over, you know Right from Wrong - Are you an active member? Or do you just belong?

- submitted by Grand Madam Trustee Elaine Regi

- Beaking Off! This past May your Beak Editors had the pleasure of visiting two fellow Aeries – Great Falls Aerie # 14 and Lethbridge #

2100. Great Falls # 14 hosted the NW Ritual Competition and showed us all some great Montana hospitality. Teams from our club participated in the competition and took many of the top spots! Ritual is a great way to learn the principles of the Eagles as well as meet members from other Aeries. If you are interested in participating please let Brother Dave Hickling (Aerie) or Sisters Lucille Lawrence or Lois Kissinger (Auxiliary) know. Lethbridge #2100 hosted the AB/SK Provincial Convention during the May long weekend with ritual competitions on Friday, meetings and a delicious banquet on Saturday, and the memorial service and installation of the new Provincial officers on Sunday. They certainly made us all feel welcome. Our thanks and kudos to all the

brothers and sisters that travelled to Lethbridge to participate in the memorial service, we’ve been told we did a beautiful job remembering the Eagles lost over the past year. As we mentioned in the previous edition of The Beak, we will going green and actively reducing the amount of paper copies of this newletter we produce starting with the Sept/Oct edition. If you don’t currently get the beautiful, full colour, large print edition of The Beak by email and would like to please email us at [email protected]. Alternatively, you could drop us a note in The Beak box at the club. As a bonus all email subscribers will be getting a special August edition of The Beak – a complete ‘Blast from the Past’ issue!! You will need to advise us if you want to continue receiving The Beak by snail mail.– Call the club (see the front page) or mail us a note to the club 9305 5 St SE, Calgary, AB T2J 1K4. A small number of black and white paper Beaks will be left at

the club for members to pick up. As always, back issues will be available at issuu.com/thebeak. Stampede is almost upon us so check the calendar pages for events and goings-on at the club. Have a great summer,

Jeremy + Jamie Stinson
