leaviNg timeby Jodi Picoult

On the night one of the caretakers at a New Hampshire elephant sanctuary was killed, Jenna's mother, Alice, was found unconscious nearby. Hours later, Alice checked herself out of the hospital and disappeared, leaving her 3-year-old daughter behind. Now, 10 years later, the precocious 13-year-old wants answers to the mysteries of her mother's whereabouts. A homeless man's death and the disappearance of his daughter send private investigator Charlie Parker to Prosperous, Maine. Now Parker must die.

Worthy FightS: a memoir oF leaderShip iN War aNd peaceby Leon Panetta with Jim Newton

After a career in Congress, Panetta served as director of the OMB (1993-94) and as President Bill Clinton's Chief of Staff (1994-97). Then, after what only looked like retirement, he returned to government service as CIA Director (2009-11). In the wake of bin Laden’s death, he served as Secretary of Defense (2011-13). Worthy Fights is more than a memoir, but an overview of key historical events and the conduct of the U.S. government in the past decades.

December was a very busy month for the libraries! Santa provided a mailbox so letters could be boxed up and sent to the North Pole for delivery. Did anyone get a letter from Santa? On 10 and 11 December, Santa visited the MCRD Parris Island Library and the MCAS Beaufort Library. Firemen carefully watched Santa’s team at the end of the tarmac and others delivered Santa to the library

on one of their big fire trucks. We hope you were able to join the library staff during Santa’s trip to the libraries. The staff at the MCRD Parris Island and the MCAS Beaufort Library hopes that you had a very happy Holiday and we look forward to serving you during the New Year!
