This material has been developed with the Learning Resource Management Development System – Schools Division Office of Apayao (LRMDS - SDO Apayao) and has been implemented

Matapos ang isang
linggong pag-ulan,
sumikat din ang araw.
“Isan! Isan!” tawag ng mga
kaibigan niya.

“Akyat tayo sa bundok
maglaro tayo doon!
Masarap magpadulas sa
mga damo,” sabi ng mga
kaibigan ni Isan.

“Hintay lang!
Magpaalam ako kay
Inay,” sabi ni Isan.

“Huwag anak,
mapanganib ngayon ang
umakyat sa bundok. Baka
kung ano ang mangyari sa
inyo. Masyadong madulas
ang daan,” sagot ng
kanyang ina.

Hindi na nagpilit si Isan.
Mabuti na lamang na
sundin niya ang kanyang
ina.

Bandang hapon
nakarinig sila ng balita na
gumuho ang lupa sa karatig
pook nila. Napabalita din
ang nangyari sa mga
batang umakyat sa bundok.

“Mabuti na lang at
sinunod ko si Inay.
Mapalad ako di ako
napahamak,” bulong ni
Isan.
Lucky Isan
After a week of rainy days, the sun shines again.
“Isan! Isan!,” his friends called.
“Let’s go to the mountain and play. It is very
interesting to play there”. “Wait, I will ask
permission from my mother, answered Isan.
Mother, can I go to the mountain and play?”
asked Isan . “No, it’s very dangerous to go there.
Something might happen to you. The path is
slippery,” mother said.
Isan did not insist. Good thing he listened to his
mother. In the afternoon, they heard a news
about landslide in the nearby village.
The children who climbed the mountain were
harmed. “ It’s good I obeyed Mother. How lucky
I am.” Isan whispered.
