[57] Abstract:

The present inventors have found during their extensive interaction with consumers that very dark skinned consumers have an aspiration to have a lighter skin colour that have a glow and radiant appearance while attaining a yellowish hue on the skin. A skin lightening composition is provided which gives dark skinned consumers the desired glow and hue on their skins while having a composition that is stable over the lifetime of the product. Such a skin lightening composition comprises (i) a skin lightning agent; (ii) 0.01 to 3% pearlescent pigment; (iii) 0.01 to 3% a yellow pigment; and (iv) a cosmetically acceptable base comprising 5 to 25% fatty acid and/or 0.01 to 80% soap.

The present invention describes a novel process for the preparation of optically active (S)-(-)-2-(N-propylamino)-5-methoxytetraline and (S)-(-)-2-(N-propylamino)-5- hydroxytetraline compounds based on the optical resolution of mixtures of the enantiomers of 2-(N-propylamino)-5-methoxytetraline and 2-(N-propylamino)-5- hydroxytetraline respectively. This process comprises (a) reacting a mixture of the enantiomers of said compounds with an optically active organic acid to form diastereoisomeric salts and separating the salts by crystallization. Said compounds are useful in the preparation of (6S)-(-)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-6-[propyl-(2- thienyl)ethyl]amino-1 -naphthol (Rotigotine). Rotigotine is a dopamine agonist and is indicated for the treatment of Parkinson's disease.

[57] Abstract:

Accurate, dependable methods for analyzing operational parameters of subsea control systems and diagnosis/prediction of failures are provided, in particular, methods for detection of leaking and/or clogging in hydraulic control system using recorded pressure signals and evaluating response communication strength (signal amplitude) of field equipment from, for example, subsea control systems. Prediction of failure(s) allows an opportunity to prepare for intervention to minimize the impact of failure before failure occurs, for example, by ordering equipment, tools and/or scheduling an intervention vessel. Similarly, diagnosing a failure drastically shortens the intervention time.
