SUMMER LEARNING ADVANTAGE CAMPAIGN – REMINDER Summer is coming and so is Summer Learning Advantage.

Now is the time to plan activities that will keep your child’s mind busy and

actively involved during those long and lazy days of summer. One suggestion

is the Learning Advantage Workbook in English or French. Each Activity

book offers 192 fully coloured pages designed to reinforce and maintain

students' academic learning skills over the summer . There is a different activity for each grade - from Junior Kinder-garten to Grade 7. Each grade level book features units aligned with the Ontario curriculum; parent information pages,

evaluation forms; follow up activities and a family focus. The cost of each book is $20.00. Visit www.learningadvantage.ca to

download a free unit of the book you would like to order. Order forms have been sent home. Please have your orders back to

the school by June 10th.

Honesty Honesty is being sincere, open, trustworthy in all we say and do. Honesty is a mark of a disciple of Jesus, who is the way, the TRUTH and the life.

“Conscience is God’s built-in warning system. Be very

happy when it hurts you. Be very worried when it

doesn’t.”

You can reinforce the virtue of honesty by using your Catholic Culture of Deep Caring calendar

at home.

Kindly apply sunscreen before your child leaves for school in the morning and ensure that they have a hat with them, particularly for the noon hour recess. Families are also encouraged to send a water bottle with their child that can be filled periodically throughout the day. On days when the air quality is poor and the humidity high we will have a shortened outdoor recess period. Open back, tube/tank tops, spaghetti straps and muscle shirts are not permitted by themselves or under other clothing. Sleeveless tops with a shoulder band of at least the width of three fingers are acceptable. Shorts, skirts, skorts and dresses are expected to be of a modest length (width of wearer’s hand at knee).
