We,thepeopleofImmaculateConceptionParish,believewearecalledtobean

Eucharisticpeopleandahospitablecommunity.WejoyfullysharetheguidanceoftheHoly

Spirit.Throughprayerandopenness,weareaprayingparishfamilywhoseekgrowth,wisdom,

love,knowledgeandforgiveness.Webelieveitisourresponsibilitytolookforthegoodinall

2:15‐3:15pm.Thechildrenarereleasedfromschool,withparentalpermission,fromthe

ButternutPublicSchoolfortheseclasses.Theprogramfor6‐8gradesisonthe2ndand4th

Wednesdays.Andgrades9‐11haveinstructiononthe1st,3rd&5thWednesday.

Grade12meetsonthefirstWednesdayofthemonth.

Alleveningclassesarefrom6:30‐8pm.

Confirmationisatwo‐yearprogramthatbeginsingrade10andculminatesinthespringof

Baptism

Parentswishingtohaveachildbaptized,mustattendaBaptismpreparationclass,whichis

heldeveryothermonthonthesecondTuesdayat7:00pminthePaduaCenterMeetingRoom

inParkFalls.Werecommendattendingtheclassbeforeyourchildisborn.Pleasecallthe

parishofficetoregisterfortheclass.Thepastororadeaconwillarrangeforthedateandtime

ofthebaptism.

Forbaptism,weaskthatamotherandfatherberegistered,practicingmembersoftheparish

oranotherparishpriortothereceptionofthesacrament.

Marriage

ImmaculateConceptionParishfollowtheguidelinesoftheDioceseofSuperior.Couplesthat

areplanningmarriagemustnotifythepastorsixmonthspriortotheproposeddateof

marriage.Itisarequirementthatthecoupleparticipateinanassessmentprocess,which

includesapremaritalinventory,whenameetingwithasponsorcoupletakesplace.

Formarriage,weaskthatacoupleberegistered,practicingmembersofImmaculate

Conceptionparishoranotherparishpriortothereceptionofthesacrament.

LayMinisters

Therearemanyministriesthatareopentoallmembersoftheparish.EucharisticMinisters

musthavereceivedthesacramentofConfirmation.Lectors,servers,ushers,greetersand

anyonewithmusicaltalentarewelcomeatanytime.Ifinterested,pleasecalltheparishoffice

andtraining,ifneeded,willbeprovided.

Also,theParishCouncil,FinanceCouncilandBuildingandGroundsCommitteearewaysto

servetheparish.

CommunionfortheHomebound

DeaconRobertSchienebeckorourpastorvisitthehomesofourparishioners,togive

CommuniontothosethatarenotabletoattendMass.Thisserviceisprovidedonceamonth,

usuallythethirdWednesday.OnSundaysandotherspecialtimes,Communionisdeliveredby

EucharisticMinisters.

CatholicYouthGroup

TheYouthGroupisanorganizationofyoungpeoplemadeupofallstudentsingrades9‐12.

Theyholdamonthlymeetingat7:30pmonthefirstWednesdayofthemonth.Thegroup

Organizesforprayerandspiritualgrowth,socialandrecreationalactivitiesandserviceprojects.

Fundraisersareheldforactivities,suchasthefallgathering,Christmascaroling,YouthRally,

theDiocesanSki‐Blast,aswellaspicnicsandotheroutings.Oneofthefundraisersisacookie

bake.Thestudentsandteachersbakeseveraldozendifferentkindsofcookiesandsellapaper

platefullbeforeandaftertheSaturdayHuntersMassinNovemberandthefollowingSunday

morning8:00ammass.Thosefundsthatarecollected,aregiventotheLord’sCupboard,alocal

foodpantry.Serviceprojects,suchashelpingoutattheKC’sSt.Patrick’sParty,servingat

funeralluncheonsandthedecoratingofthechurchatChristmastime,arewaysthe

childrenareinvolvedwiththeparish.

ChristianLadiesOrganization

Allladiesoftheparisharemembersandareinvitedtotakepart.Thisorganizationservesthe

parishbyprovidingfuneralluncheonsforparishmembersandfamilies,sponsoringscholarships

forgraduatinghighschoolseniorsandliturgicalneedsofthechurch.Theladieshaveone

fundraiserduringthesummer,whichistheraffleofahomemadequeensizequilt.Thewinning

ticketisdrawnonthe1stSundayofSeptember.Meetingdateandtimearepublishedinthe

weeklyparishbulletin.

KnightofColumbus

TheFrGeorgeNiekampCouncil#7132wascharteredinButternutin1978.Thecouncilholds

variousfundraisersthoughouttheyear.ThereistheannualStPatrick’sDayBouyaSupperand

CardParty/BingoinMarch.ThemenprovidebreakfastfortheladiesonMother’sDayinMay.

Ascholarshipprogramhasbeenestablishedforgraduatinghighschoolseniors.TheCouncil

sponsoryouthactivities,suchastheChristmasPosterContest,FreeThrowContestand

KnowledgeContest.ThereisanannualTootsieRolldrive.
