History of the churchA small chapel is already standing
in Hacienda Tambobong or now wecall Malabon. It was during the years of 1600. There was placed,
the picture of La PurisimaConcepcion.
In 1866, a big chapel was built for the Blessed Virgin Mary. But
unfortunately, some parts of the structure were destroyed due to a
massive earthquake in 1880. Fortunately, the picture of La Purisima
is not destroyed.
Because of the strong faith and unity of the Catholics, they successfully built a
much bigger, beautiful and a rightful placefor the Blessed Virgin Mary to live in. They
have done it within 6 years. In 1886, the church is built and bigger thanbefore. They also placed a Baptismal Font
and a marmol where they placed holy water. It was given by Dona Atancia Que
Pangco (November 1886).
PagtataloOn May 1899, an Ilokano priest is
banned from service because of only doing the works of a bishop. This priest
held his own religion called “Iglesia Filipina Independiente” o Aglipay and
there are some people living in Malabon that decided to join.
On November 26, 1902, the Visita Concepcion is conquered by the IglesiaFilipina Independiente (I.F.I.) and from
that day, they used it for their own faith. The Catholics fight for their right. After 4
years, they succeeded. The Supreme Court of the Philippines commanded to give to the Catholics all
that is rightfully theirs on November 24,1906.
The Visita of Dampalit, Muzon, Hulong Duhat
are returned on January 29, 1909.
