Identifying The Team
This initiative will be driven by 4 key personnel:
Myself: I will oversee all aspects of the initiatives
and lead the performance management aspect of the
transition
Sr. Marketing Manager – will create visibility and
ensure brand integrity for this transformation
VP of Business Development – will be the main contact with current customers and develop a
strategy for augmenting the customer base during the
transition
VP of Information Assurance– will be the main source of quality
assurance and will make sure product integrity is
not loss in the transition to e-publishing

Why Is This Transition Essential?
Universities/students want convenience, accessibility , and savings (customer experience) – delivering value to the customer
It will help us lean our processes and remain cost-efficient – the 2nd highest priority – will drive financial performance
The overarching theme is profitability – Amazon is giving publishers 70% of revenue generated from customer materials

Developing A Pilot Program
The pilot program will allow us to strategically plan how to reach our key performance indicators
VP of Business Development will find a customer who will purchase our e-books via kindle for 1 semester – must negotiate a trial contract with Amazon
Sr. Marketing Manager will promote the new movement to spark consumer interest
VP of Information Assurance will ensure that the right documents are published and electronically compatible

1 semester pilot
program (16 wks)
1 year: all print-based text books moved to Kindle: New publishing contract with Amazon
1 year 6 months: All print-based material converted
2 years: Full integration with Kindle – revenue stream is completely Kindle-based
