Overflight and Landing Permits
Image from WunderMap on february 25th 2014
• There are three types of landing permits issued by Brazilian Authorities:
- NOTIFICATION ONLY -
- AVANAC -
- AVOEM -
21
Overflight and Landing Permits
ANAC Website (www.anac.gov.br)
- NOTIFICATION ONLY -
• Permission required for aircrafts that intend to OVERFLY Brazilian
territory or only make a SINGLE STOP.
• If it is necessary to move the aircraft on the ground beyond the customs
area at the same airport, or land in another airport in Brazil, it will be
necessary to obtain an AVANAC permit.
22
Overflight and Landing Permits
ANAC Website (www.anac.gov.br)
- AVANAC -
• Permission required for aircraft that will make MULTIPLES STOPS in
Brazil.
• This permission should be requested at least 24 hours prior to arrival.
• The aircraft can land without this permission, but cannot depart.
23
Overflight and Landing Permits
ANAC Website (www.anac.gov.br)
- AVOEM -
• Permit required for DIPLOMATIC flights.
• This particular permit must be requested between countries' Embassies
without handler or flight operator assistance.

- TEAT -
• Shortly after landing, a member of the cockpit crew must obtain a Temporary Admission Term (TEAT) document from airport customs authorities.
• This permission determines how long the aircraft can remain inside Brazilian territory. Note that the permission expiration can be different from the AVANAC. In this case, the TEAT document supercedes the AVANAC.
• This permit is mandatory for all foreign aircrafts flying into multiple airports in Brazil.

Slots, PPR and Flight Plan
ANAC Website (www.anac.gov.br)
• It is important to note that to operate in certain airports in Brazil, SLOT's
are required (most notably SBSP;SBRJ;SBBR;SBCT).
• Slots are issued by CGNA only 25 hour before ETA/ETD (not applicable
for the 2014 World Cup).
• It is possible to operate without slots; however in this case, it would be
mandatory to request a “Opportunity Slot” from ATC (by PIC, SIC or
ANAC licensed Dispatcher) who will evaluate approval according to
airport traffic.
