• The launching of the European regions network for Health Research and Innovation Platform (RegHealth-RI Platform, tentative name) is an important goal of the project

• Will be composed of actors from different EU organizations with interest and targets in promoting health R&I at regional, national or European level.

• The main objective of this networking platform will be to promote and facilitate the communication between network members to enrich the dialogue, the feedback and exchange of opinions and experiences among the members.

• Several networking tools like the network webpage, discussion forums, collaborative work tools (wiki or similar), social network tools and intranet, will be implemented to facilitate the communication. The intranet of the network website could include repositories including the following types of documents:

Detection of common patterns and study of determinants on health R&I within the less performing EU regions.

Establish new funding programs to develop and disseminate technology innovations within the non-profit sector

Create forums and intermediaries to facilitate the adoption and dissemination of technology innovations

Promote health innovation clusters for regional growth

Support services to innovating firms: i.e. science parks or incubators

Promoting spin-offs from research centres

Topics for discussion (preliminary)

• Analysis of the results of the Pillar 15 of Horizon 2020: "Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation: Teaming, Twinning, ERA Chairs, the Policy Support Facility and the Special action from COST on Widening actions and its possible synergies with Structural Funds

• Identification of possible actions/initiatives/programmes to increase the participation in H2020 and to facilitate synergies between H2020 and Structural Funds (preliminary ideas):

Design H2020 work programmes taking RIS3 fields and SF implementation timelines into account and include FP7/Horizon2020 participants from less dev. regions, to design RIS3.

Promote actions funded by SFs to support the preparation of proposals for H2020 (search for projects/partners, writing the proposal, budget elaboration, etc.) of both Academic research centres and companies

Promote new doctoral programmes funded by ESIF for increasing its possibilities of additional funding in the Horizon 2020 under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions

Open Horizon 2020 strategic platforms (Joint Programming Initiatives, European Innovation Partnerships, etc.) for regional level policy actors.
