Game NotesLast Time Out: The Soaring Eagles dropped their most recent contest this past weekend to SUNY Cortland, 6-0. Elmira had limited scoring opportunities as the Purple and Gold were outshot 33-4 and had zero corner kick opportu-nities compared to Cortland’s 12.

Who Gets the Start?: Coach Moore has the difficult de-cision of choosing who will get the starting nod to play goalie for this afternoon’s game. Captain Austin Mansell ’16 got the start in EC’s season opener and made six saves against King’s College. There is also the option of Kevin Huggins ’16 who started against SUNY Cortland and came up with seven saves. Finally, Elmira’s third option in net is Jordan Dougherty ’16, who saw the most minutes of any of the three keepers last season but has yet to play in 2014.

Series History: There is not much of a history between EC and Oneonta State as last year’s game was the first between the two teams in both program’s history. In last year’s inau-gural meeting, the Red Dragons of Oneonta State earned a 4-0 victory.

Looking Ahead: Following today’s game, the Soaring Ea-gles will travel to take on Hilbert College on Saturday, Sep-tember 13th for a 3:00 p.m. non-conference game. Three days later the Elmira men return to Campus Field to host Liberty League opponent, Rochester Institute of Technol-ogy for a 4:00 p.m. contest.

Game NotesLast Time Out: The Red Dragons of Oneonta State enter today’s contest with an unblemished 3-0 record. Oneonta’s most recent victory came in the form of a 4-0 shutout win against Babson College. Additionally, Oneonta is off to their best start since the 2009 season when the Red Drag-ons opened the year with five straight wins.

Road Opener: Today’s game against Elmira marks the first road contest of the season for the Red Dragons. Since be-coming a full-time NCAA Division III program in 2006, Oneonta has gone 6-2 in road-opening games. However, in their last three road openers, the Red Dragons have gone 1-2.

Keep an Eye on No. 18: Dylan Williams ’16 leads the Red Dragons in points with six off of three goals. Williams is currently on a three-game scoring streak as he has registered a goal in each of Oneonta’s games thus far.

Clean Sheets: Oneonta has won three straight games, all by shutouts. Last year the Red Dragons posted five shutouts all season.
