Game NotesLast Time Out: Elmira came up short in their most recent contest, falling at home to Empire 8 Conference foe Naza-reth College, 5-1. The Soaring Eagles allowed two Golden Flyer goals in the first 11 minutes of play, and would surren-der two more before getting on the board. Austin Mansell ’16 got the start in net for EC and made 11 saves, tying his career-high.

Career First: With less than one minute to play in the first half against Nazareth, Tony Barraco ’18 knocked-in his first collegiate goal. Barraco becomes the fifth Soaring Eagle to score their first collegiate goal this season.

Series History: Since 2002, Elmira and SUNY IT have played each other four times. The Soaring Eagles hold a 3-1 edge in the all-time series but the Wildcats boast the most recent victory in the series which occurred last season in Elmira’s final non-conference game.

Looking Ahead: Today’s game marks the final regular sea-son home game for the Soaring Eagles. Elmira will play in their season finale on Saturday, November 1st when EC travels to face to Houghton College.

Game NotesA Look at SUNY IT: The Wildcats of SUNY IT enter to-day’s game with a 6-10-2 overall record and are coming off a 3-2 win over Cazenovia College. SUNY IT’s win over Cazenovia snapped a five-game losing streak.

McBride’s the Man: Nick McBride ’17 leads SUNY IT’s of-fense with 13 points on six goals and one assist. His play of late has been superb, totaling five goals in in the Wildcats’ last four games, including a three-goal effort in SUNY IT’s 3-2 win over Cazenovia.

Big Shoes to Fill: With the departure of last year’s NEAC Player of the Year, Malick Faye ’14, the Wildcats have searched for someone to fill the void between the posts. SUNY IT is hopeful that Jesse Yanarella ’17 is that guy. Yanarella has started in 16 games this season with 78 saves and a goals against average of 1.69. Yanarella has big shoes to fill as Faye turned in a stellar senior season in 2013, fin-ishing the year second in the country in both goals against average (.396) and save percentage (.908).
