The Soaring Eagles trailed twice in the game, both in the first half and both by only one point, as the Soaring Eagles cruised to their third straight win of the season. Jus-tin Henderson ’16 paced the Soaring Eagles with a career-high 29 points, 24 of which came from three-point buckets.

Third Straight Win: Elmira’s 10-point win over Hough-ton marked EC’s third consecutive win, all of which were against Empire 8 Conference opponents. The three-game win streak matches Elmira’s longest of the season.

Must-Win Game: Elmira’s three-game win streak has im-proved their conference record to 7-7, just a half-game be-hind Ithaca, who is 8-7, for the fourth, and final, Empire 8 playoff spot. A win tonight moves EC into fourth in the conference standings with one game to play, while a loss would eliminate the Soaring Eagles from postseason con-tention.

Three-Ball Never Looked Better: It is no secret, Elmira likes to shoot the three-ball and for good reason. The Soar-ing Eagles have made 216 three-pointers on the year, setting a program record for most makes in a single-season. Elmira has posted back-to-back games with 16 made threes, which is not only a season-high, but are also the most made in a single-game by an EC squad in over 14 years.

Looking Ahead: The Purple and Gold will conclude the 2014-15 regular season tomorrow, February 21st, when EC hosts Alfred University. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

Game NotesA Glance At Ithaca: The Bombers of Ithaca College enter tonight’s conference bout with an 11-13 overall record and an 8-7 mark in Empire 8 Conference play. Ithaca is in a must-win situation tonight, as a loss to the Soaring Eagles would knock the Bombers out of playoff contention.

Looking to Snap the Streak: Ithaca is on a three-game los-ing streak and have dropped four of their last five contests, with all four of their losses coming against Empire 8 Confer-ence opponents. In their three-game stretch of defeats, the Bombers have lost on average by 6.3 points per game.

Rookie Honors: Marc Chasin ’18 has been one of the best freshmen in the Empire 8 as he earned E8 Rookie of the Week as well as ECAC Upstate Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season on Monday. Chasin averaged 27.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game last week.

Leading Bombers: Ithaca has four players averaging double-digit points in Keefe Gitto ’15, Marc Chasin ’18, Sam Be-van ’16, and Max Masucci ’15. Gitto leads the Bombers with 15.5 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, while Chasin is close behind at 14.9 points per contest. Bevan is averaging 10.4 points per game and leads Ithaca with 4.8 assists per game. Finally, Masucci is at 10.0 points per contest and is the top three-point shooter on the team with 47 makes this season.

Series History: EC and Ithaca have played each other 60 times throughout the course of their series history, includ-ing a matchup earlier this season that Elmira won. Even with the Soaring Eagle victory back in January, the Bombers hold a 38-22 advantage in the all-time series.
