Elmira’s Three-Point Defense: The EC women also have a solid three-point defense as the Soaring Eagles have only allowed 27.6 percent of their opponents shots to drop. This ranks them third in the Empire 8 Conference behind Ste-vens Institute of Technology and conference leader Naza-reth College.

Elmira Blocking Shots: The Purple and Gold are averaging 3.00 blocked shots per contest this season. This ranks them second in the Empire 8 Conference, 1.56 blocked shots per game behind conference leader Stevens Institute of Tech-nology. Leading the EC women in the respective statistic is Meghan Loya ’16 and Danielle Cleary ’18 who are ranking fourth and seventh with averages of 1.1 and 0.8 per game, respectively.

Cleary In The Top-5: Danielle Cleary ’18 is averaging 15.9 points per contest this season. She is in a tie for fifth place in the Empire 8 Conference in points per game. Some of Cleary’s points this season have come from the three-point distance. She averages 36.7 percent of her shots from that range and has made an average of 2.2 three-pointers per contest. Game NotesHoughton So Far: The Highlanders enter this weekend with a 3-8 record and a 0-3 mark inside the Empire 8 Con-ference. Houghton also will enter the weekend on a six-game losing streak with their most recent losses coming to the hands of conference foes Hartwick College, Stevens In-stitute of Technology, and Nazareth College.

Look For Pipher: At 17.4 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 1.9 blocked shots per contest, Maisie Pipher ’16 not only leads the team in the three statistical categories, she leads the Empire 8 Conference in rebounds and blocked shots per game. She also ranks second in the Empire 8 in scoring this season, just 0.5 points away from Amanda Off ’17 of Alfred University.

The Highlander’s Deep Threat Shooter: Hannah Manwar-ing ’17 has made 27 of the Highlanders total 28 shots from three-point range. She also has attempted 92 of the team’s total 97 total attempts from that range. She has made an average of 29.3 percent of her shots from beyond the arc and averages 2.5 three-pointers per shot. Manwaring also averages double-digits in scoring with 10.3 points per game.

All-Time vs. Houghton: Elmira holds the all-time advan-tage in recent history over Houghton College with a 3-1 record, winning three straight against the Highlanders. EC has defeated Houghton by an average of 16.66 points in the wins against the Highlanders.
