Brief  Description  of  Postgraduate  Courses  Taught:  (Course  Title  –  Code:  Description)    1   The  Philosophy  behind  the  program  can  be  condensed  in  the  following  principles.  The  program  consists  of  a

theoretical  and  a  clinical  part.  In  the  clinical  part,  the  process  of  learning  is  gradual,  especially  as  regards  operative  surgery  which  starts  from  simple  operations  on  the  ocular  adnexa  and  ends  up  with  glaucoma  and  retinal  surgery.  Since  theoretical  difficulties  in  the  different  fields  of  ophthalmology  are  comparable,  the  same  subject  is  explained  simultaneously  to  residents  belonging  to  different  levels  of  training.  The  theoretical  courses  (811,  812,  813,  814)  consist  of  lectures  and  seminars  while  the  clinical  courses  (815,  821,  831,  841)  are  based  on  clinical  and  surgical  exposure.
