Saina Institute of Medical Sciences ( SIMS) is a Group of Institution, established in the year 2013

under the Society “The Kangleipak Rural Area Development Organization Manipur” with

Regd.no.347/Imphal of 1986 dated 17th April,1986, Govt. of Manipur. Saina Institute of Medical

Sciences (SIMS) got “No Objection Certificate” from the Govt. of Manipur, Director of Health

Services Govt. of Manipur , Lamphel, Imphal West. Under the Guidance of Indian Nursing Council,

New Delhi, Manipur Nursing council has conducted inspection and has given approval of 30 seats for

the academic session 2018-2019 from Director of Health Services Govt. of Manipur , Lamphel, Imphal

West. SIMS Approved by: Health Department Government of Manipur, Manipur Pollution Control

Board, Govt. of Manipur and Bharat Sevak Samaj. Bharat Sevak Samaj is the National Development

Agency, Established in 1952, by Planning Commission, Government of India to ensure public co-

operation for implementing Government plants. The main purpose behind the formulation of Bharat

Sevak Samaj is to initiate a nationwide, non official and non political organization with the object of

enabling individual citizen to contribute, in the form of National Development Plan. The constitution

and functioning of Bharat SevakSamaj is approved unanimously by the Indian Parliament. SIMS is

affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, (JNIMS HOSPITAL) letter No. 1208/13

(Clinical exp./Nur)12-JNH/JNIMS ,Government of Manipur.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVE OF SIMS-

1 To establish a model national class Nursing and Paramedical Training Institution in the state to

provide opportunity to poor talented ambitions students for their dreams come true.

modern medical sciences and Nursing Profession to provide a well qualified Nurses and

Paramedics worker at affordable quality of health care services to the common men to their

doorsteps.

4 Our institute shall stick on training part only. We are also committed to carry out the other

ADMISSION & SELECTION PROCEDURE

A. Eligibility Criteria for GNM programmed

1. Minimum education eligibility criteria for admission to GNM:

• 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and

English Individually from any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School

recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central

Government.

However Science is preferable.

• 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by

Indian Nursing Council

• 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized

CBSE board/State/Centre

• Registered ANM with pass mark.

Students shall be medically fit.

Minimum age for admission will be 17 years. (as on 31st December of that year) The upper age limit is

35yrs. For ANM/ for LHV, there is no age bar.

For Foreign nationals

The entry qualification equivalency i.e., 12th standard will be obtained by Association of Indian

University, New Delhi. Institution, State Nursing Council will be responsible to ensure that the

qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed as above.

2. Reservation

a) For disabled candidates 3% disability reservation to be considered with a disability of

locomotor to the tune of 40% to 50 % of the lower extremity and other eligibility criteria with

regard to age and qualification will be same as prescribed for each nursing programme.

Note: A committee to be formed consisting of medical offer authorized by medical board of

state government and a nursing expert in the panel which may decide whether the candidates

have the disability of locomotor of 40% to 50%

b) 5 % of total marks is relaxed for SC/ST candidates

c) Any other reservation as per the State Govt.

(iii)Duly filled form with relevant document should be submitted at SIMS office on or before the last date.

(iv) The application form must be filled by the candidate only. (v) The application form must be filled in Capital letters only. (vi) The application form must be accompanied by the attested copy of the requisite qualification

certificates. (vii) Affix Six passports size and must be attested all Xerox copies by the gazette/Self. (viii) Incomplete form will not be considered.

SELECTION PROCEDURE: This will be based on fulfilling the eligibility criteria for Admission

(i) Candidate will have to be faced entrance examination and the interview for selection in the SIMS. The examination will be held at Saina institute of medical sciences-SIMS.

(ii) The candidate should bring Admit Card at the time of entrance examination and interview also.

(iii) The competitive entrance examination will be of 1 ½ hours duration of 50 marks. (iv) The decision of the admission selection board SIMS in the regard will be final and binding for

all. (v) There shall be reservation for ST/SC/OBC/ Minorities and for General student. (vi) The arrangement of seats etc. Shall be decide by the concern authority from time to time

COMPETITIVE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION The general standard of the Competitive Entrance Examination will be that of 12th Class under the 10+2 scheme/intermediate science or equivalent examination of an Indian University. No syllabus for the examination has been prescribed by the Institute. Question paper will be provided in English language only. (a) The examination will be held at SIMS, (b) The competitive entrance examination will be of 3 hours duration of 100 marks. (c) The candidate should bring the Admit Card at the entrance examination and at the time of interview

also.

DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS: Every student should observe the rules and regulations of the institute, if any student is found committing misbehavior and violation of the rules and regulations of the institute after giving warning of 3 times in writing, He/ she will be punished. WITHDRAWAL FROM THE COURSE:

Any students who wishes to discontinue the course at any time after the session started , is liable to pay the complete course fees.

CLINICAL FACILITIES We have affiliated with Jawaharlal Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) , Porompat for clinical practice, CHC Nambol, PHC Ningthoukhong, Bishnupur District and others.

1 Hostellers should follow the daily routine of the hostel. 2 Attendance will be taken two times in a day by the respective wardens at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. 3 If any student is sick, should inform warden immediately.

4 Hostellers should take care of their belongings. If things are stolen due to negligence, institute will not be responsible.

5 All the hostellers should bring the necessary articles like mattress, bed sheet, pillow, bucket, utensils etc.

6 No hostellers are allowed to go inside the room. 7 Hostellers may leave the room after getting permission from the principal and submitting the

application letter to warden. 8 Hostellers should follow the rules and regulation of hostel strictly.

VISITING HOUR

1 A visiting card will be issued to each hostel student and their parents/guardian. 2 Parents/guardian may visit the hostel only on 1st Saturday of every month between 10.00am to

1.00pm. 3 Visitors will meet their children in the visiting room only. 4 In case of any emergency visits, it can be arranged under the concerned authorities’ permission. 5 All parents should compulsorily bring the visitor’s card on the day of the visit. 6 In case of loss visitor’s card, parents can get a new card with the payment of Rs.200/-fine and

necessary documents. RAGGING 1. Ragging of any sort is strictly prohibited 2. if any students found guilty of this offense will be liable for severe punishment including

expulsion from the institution /hostel RULES AND REGULATION OF THE INSTITUTE: 1. All the students have to pay Examination & Practical extra fee time to time All the students enrolled in SIMS shall have to be following the rules and regulation adopted by SIMS authority. 2. The Management Committee of the Saina Institute of Medical Sciences – SIMS deserves to change the rules and regulation and fees structure from time to time. 3. Ragging will not be allowed. 4. Any un-due external pressure and interference of public and any organization shall not be accepted by SIMS authority. 5. All the decision of SIMS authority shall be enforced as rules and regulation for the SIMS. 6. All the rules regulation adopted by SIMS authority shall be strictly considered interest of the public and students. 7. Student are not allowed to leave the institute premises during the school hours without obtaining proper permission from the principal. 8. Smoking, pan and taking alcohol etc. in the institute campus is strictly prohibited. 9. Amount paid at the time of admission should not be refunded whether or not students joining institute. 10. The institute authority will take all care to see that all the items brought by the students are not lost but will not be responsible for loss or damages etc.

11. No visitors or others then the parents have solve or local guardians duty appointed by the parents of the students are allowed to visit the student, 12. Any communication required suggestion or complain made by the parents or guardians regarding the academic hostel and other matter related to the institute should be addressed to the Managing Director, Manipur institution of medical sciences such communication made by the parent or guardian should be in return. 13. Draft are accepted in favours of the SIMS payable at concerned bank SIMS. 14. Parent and guardian are bound by the the institute rules which may be change from time to time the decision of the institute authority are the final binding on parent and guardian. 15. The institute authority reserve the right to increases the rate of fee boarding charges due to the increases in market price of the commodities. 16. Mobile will not be allowed nursing students 17. No fee reduction are made for provided broken attendants or for late arrival no fee will be refunded even of students leaving the institute or without permission. 18. Students are not allowed to be taken out from the institute for any mere social function 19. Students should not bring costly item like Jewellery, Camera, Transistor etc. in the institute. 20. No leaves of absences will be granted except on written application from the parent or local guardians and that to only for serious reasons. 21. The institute will not held responsible in any way in the event of a student leaving the institute premised without the principal permission in such event student will be deemed expelled. 22. Students who remain absent from attending class for more than 10 days consecutively without leave letter will be mark left such student will be allow to attend the class only after obtaining a written permission from the Managing Director , Deputy Director and Joint Director. 23. Medical Certificate from recognized medical practitioner to certify that student is medically fit and free from any contagious diseases. 24. Under the care of experience mess manager well planted balanced and appetizing vegetarians and food will be serve the student at regular meal times the hostel superintendent and warden will join the student in their meal table manner and etiquette will be emphasized. 25. Parent would take admission for four or more than may deserve concession in institute fee such parent shall be exempted from paying tuition fee of student. 26. Those parent / guardian who are under alcoholic influence will not be entered the institute premised. 27. Every student much taken part in games and sports and other co-curricular activities unless he/she medical unfit. 28. The student suffering from following diseases no be admitted to the institute such as asthma, TB, Cancer or any communicable diseases and if the parent don’t bring this to the notice of the institute authority at the time of admission the students may be expelled from the institute when every any of the above mention disease come to the notice of the institute authority no fees shall be refunded in that case. 29. Strict observance for the above rule in important and necessary any violation of the above rules will result in expulsion on the and parent will be referred to withdraw their student t once.

AWARD OF CERTIFICATE/DIPLOMA/DEGREE:- Our institution will issue only to students passing all the subjects of the semester/year examination. The Certificate/Diploma/Degree will be awarded to the student only if he /she has acquired a pass grade in all the semester/year end examination within the maximum duration of the course. In case the student does not clear all the semester/year end examination in the maximum time at mentioned in the course details he/she will not be awarded any certificate/diploma/degree. In such condition no refund will not given. ATTENTION 1. The provisions in the prospectus may be changed by the competent authority without any notices. 2. For any clarification/dispute, decision of the training, SIMS Institution shall be final and binding on all concerned.
