ILLEGAL UNDERAGE DRINKING
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
• Alcohol is the most commonly used drug
• Causes changes in behavior; mood swings
• Approximately 7% of the population has an alcohol abuse problem
• Alcohol use often precedes violent events such as vandalism & domestic violence
• Drinking during high school is associated with serious social, legal, and medical consequences
BACKGROUND OF TRIAL
• Michael Kralick, Ivan Claire, Steve Hanes, Jody Porter-17 years of age
• Went to festival, planning to drink alcohol
• got alcohol from beer stand, I.D. was never asked for by clerk.
• The four minors broke into cabin by lake.
BACKGROUND OF TRIAL CONT…
• They drank four more wine coolers at the cabin.
• They destroyed the furniture and pillows in the cabin.
• Planning committee is being sued by the cabin owners for the damage to the cabin.
• The kids are all charged and the planning committee is now being sued.

TRIAL CONCLUSIONS
• The beer salesmen's never properly I.D. any of the minors.
• Planning committee is at fault for not setting definitive rules about underage drinking for the festival.
• The Planning Committee should be replaced with better people and the festival should have designated drinking area.
TRIAL CONCLUSIONS
• The kids who broke into the house and destroyed the inside of the house were convicted for underage drinking, breaking and entering and vandalism.
• The same four kids were not being sued because the minor should never have had been able to get beer in the first place.
• The frog festival planning committee was to blame for the entire situation.
