Sep 2005 - Mar 2014 Direct Line Insurance Group (DLG), LondonDirect Line is one of the UK’s leading general insurers. Formerly RBS Insurance.

Focussed on change in the Finance function, worked extensively with Claims, Sales & Service and Rescue, where they were undertaking projects impacting Finance. Direct Line had an obsolete bespoke claims system which they had decided to replace with the Guidewire ClaimCenter product. This required new interfaces to be built between ClaimCenter and Oracle Financials as the old system could only make payments by cheque. These were to be replaced with BACS payments. Bodyshop Management System (BMS) Replacement – Finance Workstream LeadDirect Line had two different Bodyshop Management Systems in its network of 16 vehicle accident repair centres, which needed to be replaced. The existing systems required a lot of data to be manually re-keyed into Oracle Financials and was to be

replaced by an automated interface. Matrix managed the Finance work stream of up to four people. Used both Agile and Waterfall methodologies to manage the project Liaised with Finance stakeholders to ensure Finance requirements were met and benefits achieved. Maintained Finance elements of the Project RAID log

3. New Insurance Brand – Finance Workstream LeadDirect Line wanted to introduce a new low-cost, insurance brand to operate on price comparison websites. For this, they developed a new Quote-and-Buy and Policy Management System. Included in this were new mechanisms for taking Credit Card and Direct Debit payments. It also required new interfaces to be built between the new system and Oracle Financials Wrote the financial section of the Project Initiation Documentation Matrix managed the Finance work stream of up to four people including 2 BAs and 2 developers Managed BAs gathering and documenting requirements for the payment processing and the interfaces. Obtained sign-off for the requirements and issued to developers Updated stakeholders on project status on a weekly basis Used both Agile and Waterfall methodologies to manage the project Managed the end user testing and liaised with developers for any problem resolutions Reported into the central RAID management log
