  • 1984 2000 2017

    HISTORY

    MAB inaugurates the headquarters of Garbagnate Monastero. The administrative, commercial and shipping offices are transferred here.

    A new plant in Lecco is purchased. Between 2001 and 2004 all the company business is transferred here.

    MAB exceeds 50,000 tons of production in a single year.

    1949 Bernardo Beri and Guido Ceccarelli start Metallurgica Alta Brianza Spa in Suello, the first company in the area to produce cold drawn steel bars.

    1959 Luigi Baggioli joins the company he has been CEO since 1967.

    1972 TEL LED ITALIANA of Trezzano sul Naviglio, a competitor in the production of free cutting steels, is acquired.

    1982 SITRA of Milan a competitor in the production of cold drawn flat bars for mechanical uses is acquired.

    Square bars 5÷80 mm

    Cold drawn from roll or bar. Usually supplied untreated, in 3 to 6 m commercial lengths. Special lengths on request.

    Flat bars from 15 to 300 mm

    Cold drawn from roll or bar. Usually supplied untreated, in 3 to 6 m commercial lengths. Special lengths on request.

    On customer’s request, cold drawn steel bars can be supplied with special profiles, drop-like section, round edges, polygonals, octagonal.

    This steel grade is also available with improved machinability as a result of the addition of Pb (for example, Pb = 0,15% ÷ 0,35%) or higher sulphur contents up to around 0,10 % S (including resulphurized steels with controlled inclusion content (e.g. Ca-treatment) (modern method) or lead may be supplied on request. In the first case the upper limit for the manganese content may be increased by 0,15 %.
